    Health workers will no longer have to pay for car parking at Lincolnshire's main hospitals, it's been confirmed.

    After a two-year campaign, charges at Lincoln County Hospital, Grantham Hospital, Boston Hospital and Louth Hospital will be axed.

    It will save employees up to £300 a year, it's being claimed.

    From Monday, indoor and outdoor social gatherings of more than six people will be banned in England as coronvirus restrictions are tightened again.

    The University of Lincoln has seen a big rise in people applying to study to become a paramedic or midwife, it's been confirmed.

    The number of people wanting a place on one of the university's health and social care courses is up by almost 30% compared to this time last year, it says.

    Applications for the nursing degree are also up 20%, according to the University of Lincoln.

    It's thought the focus on NHS staff during the coronavirus pandemic has had an impact on the number of people considering work in the health sector.

    Lincolnshire beekeepers are asking people to report sightings of a killer hornet which threatens to decimate the county's bee population.

    The Asian Hornet, which has spread from the Far East into Europe, can kill up to 100 bees a day.

    The hornet is distinguished by yellow legs and a single yellow stripe around its middle.

    Sightings should be reported to the government agency Defra.
