Preferred candidate for Chief Constable role is namedpublished at 11:18 British Summer Time 14 September 2020
Paul Gibson, a police officer with almost two decades working in Lincolnshire, has been named as the preferred candidate for the role of the county's Chief Constable.
Dr Gibson, 46, who is from Lincolnshire, has been named after an "exhaustive" recruitment process which ended last week, according to the Police and Crime Commissioner Marc Jones.
Dr Gibson began his career as a PC in Lincolnshire in 1998 and spent 19 years in the force before leaving to take on the role of Assistant Chief Constable with Derbyshire Police.
He said: "I am thrilled and honoured to be selected and very much looking forward to coming home to take on the job of keeping this wonderful community safe.
"After almost two decades serving in Lincolnshire, I know the county and its people really well and have always harboured an ambition to one day lead the force."
The recommendation is now expected to go before Lincolnshire's Police and Crime Panel in early October for consideration and confirmation.
