    It's emerged Lincolnshire Police has been advising its officer not to download the NHS Covid-19 app to their work phones.

    The force says the guidance is in line with the national police chiefs council position.

    It comes as Rix Petroleum, which has three Lincolnshire depots, is telling its staff to do the same saying it's concerned that large numbers of workers might have to self-isolate even though they haven't got the virus.

    A mother from Lincolnshire whose son had a severe allergic reaction after eating a takeaway says more needs to be done to crack down on those who don’t follow the rules on allergies.

    Joe Horner, 17, was rushed to hospital struggling to breathe after eating a curry that was later found to contain peanuts.

    His mum Maria says she reported what happened to Lincolnshire Trading Standards and was left disappointed with the response.

    Lincolnshire Trading Standards says it carried out a thorough investigation and takes the issue of allergens seriously.

    The incident comes on the back of several similar high-profile cases which led to new laws being drawn up.

    From next summer all food will have to be clearly labelled and anything that's pre-packaged will have to include all ingredients.

    A secondary school in Grantham has closed after several cases of coronavirus.

    Bluecoat Meres Academy has now confirmed it had seven cases between last Tuesday and Friday.

    Students won't be returning until next Tuesday.

    A deep clean at the school will be carried out.

    An appeal's being made for information after a burglary at Just Cuts hairdressers in Skegness.

    Police say the doors of the premises on Lumley Road in the town were forced and damaged just after midnight.

    The offenders returned to the property around 20 minutes later, entered the hair salon and stole a jar of money which contained staff tips and charity collection boxes.

    Police want to speak to the two men in the images who they believe may have information.

    The number of Coronavirus cases in West Linsdey has tripled compared to last week.

    The Humber Region is to receive a chunk of £160m worth on investment to upgrade ports and factories for building wind turbines.

    It's part of the government's plans to get every home in the country powered by offshore wind within 10 years.

    Boris Johnson will promise to "build back greener" in his conference speech today, announcing new investment in offshore wind energy.

    The commitments are the first stage of a 10-point plan for a "green industrial revolution" from the government, with No 10 promising the rest of the details later this year to "accelerate our progress towards net zero emissions by 2050".

    Mr Johnson will tell the Conservative Party's virtual conference he believes that in 10 years' time, "offshore wind will be powering every home in the country".

    "Far out in the deepest waters we will harvest the gusts, and by upgrading infrastructure in places like Teesside and Humber and Scotland and Wales, we will increase an offshore wind capacity that is already the biggest in the world."

    Police in North Lincolnshire are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision between a car and a tractor last month.

    Officers were called to the A15 near Elsham in North Lincolnshire at about 19:20 on Wednesday, 30 September following reports of a collision between a Toyota Corolla and a tractor pulling a muck-spreader - both of which were travelling north.

    The driver of the Toyota, a 65-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and died in hospital two days later, police say.

    Anyone who saw what happened is being asked to contact Humberside Police.

    Owners of electric and hybrid vehicles will soon be able to park for free in car parks run by South Kesteven District Council, it's been confirmed.

    Almost 150 extra cases or coronavirus cases have been added to Lincolnshire's total - after a technical error meant they weren't properly registered at the time.

    The 148 cases almost doubled the number of cases confirmed in the week up to 1 October - from 150 up to 298.

    • West Lindsey: 22 cases to 60 cases
    • Lincoln: 25 cases to 75 cases
    • South Kesteven: 22 cases to 60
    • North Kesteven: 13 to 38
    • Boston: 12 to 17
    • South Holland: 10 to 19
    • East Lindsey: 16 to 28

    Nationally, the glitch led to around 16,000 cases being unreported and delayed efforts to track and trace people who'd been in contact with them.

    There are plans to cut the speed limit on a section of road between Sleaford and Lincoln.

    It would mean the speed limit on the A15 from Holdingham Roundabout to just past the entrance to the village of Leasingham would go from 60mph to 50mph.

    Figures show drivers are doing an average of 55mph on that stretch of road, and there have been 14 injuries from collisions there in the past five years.

    An investigation's under way in Lincoln after a man said he was pulled from his car and assaulted by a group of men in the city.

    The 38-year-old driver was in his car waiting to turn right from Beech street onto Newark Road at about 15:30 on Saturday when the incident happened, police say.

    The man was not seriously injured, according to Lincolnshire Police.

    A 29-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of causing Actual Bodily harm.

    Anyone who saw what happened, or who has information about the incident, is being asked to contact the Lincolnshire force.
