The Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group has apologised for the situation and says it's committed to getting the vaccine out as soon as possible.

Patricia Marshall, 84, who has a heart condition and who's been shielding since March, says her appointment was delayed because the vaccine had yet to be delivered.

Bill Skelly retires from his role as the county's top police officer this week after four years leading the force.

Speaking as he prepares to leave the job, he says while new government funding means Lincolnshire can recruit 200 new officers, the county still suffers compared to other areas due to its size:

We are still the least funded, so while it's getting better the gap between us in Lincolnshire and other forces in the country continues to increase."

  10. Lincolnshire communities join up for 'Carols on Doorsteps'published at 16:30 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2020

Communities across Lincolnshire will join together this evening to sing Christmas carols on their doorsteps.

The idea has been championed by BBC Local Radio as a replacement for the lack of traditional carol services this year due to coronavirus restrictions.

Carols on the Doorstep was born in Shrewsbury by local magazine editor Katy Rink, who says she applied "a bit of 'clap for carers' thinking" to the idea of carol services.

The plan is for people to tune their radios to BBC Radio Lincolnshire at 18:00 tonight and sing along to the carols with the rest of their neighbourhood.

The Reverend Ann Lett, from The Boston Methodist Circuit, says she's enlisted nine vicars and their congregations to take part.

In Osbournby, Tracey Richardson, who's got the whole village to take part, says: "It's going to be a different Christmas this year."

She adds that this kind of community venture is "what Christmas is all about".

BBC Radio Lincolnshire's Alex Rhodes has been out with Tracey in Osbournby to hear about final preparations for Carols on the Doorstep:

  15. Residents faced 'abuse and neglect' at care home - Reportpublished at 13:02 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2020

Vulnerable residents at a Lincolnshire care home who suffered "abuse and neglect" were "let down" by their NHS provider, an independent review has found.

The review says Long Leys Court in Lincoln, external, which closed in 2015, saw a "failure to identify concerns" about care and a "lack of tenacity and curiosity to protect a most vulnerable group of people".

It adds that 39 vulnerable adults were "emotionally and physically abused" at the centre.

The report says there was "inappropriate use of restrictive practice which includes chemical restraint, seclusion and physical restraint outside that of good practice and national standards".

Incidents at the home were investigated by police, but no professionals were charged with criminal offences, and no further action was taken, according to the report.

Responding, the trust responsible, the Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, has apologised and welcomed the report's recommendations.

In a statement, acting chief executive Sarah Connery says the trust is "deeply sorry the standards of care at Long Leys Court fell well below what we would expect".

Ms Connery adds: "We took immediate action to ensure the safety of our patients, including disciplinary action where necessary."
