A temporary mortuary to deal with the effects of coronavirus in Lincolnshire has been opened.
The site, at the former RAF Woodhall Spa (pictured), was set up by the county's emergency planners.
In a statement, they said it was needed because Lincolnshire was seeing a significantly higher number of deaths than usual and there would be less capacity at crematoria in the county over the next fortnight.
Quote MessageThe Woodhall Mortuary is a purpose-built facility that has been on standby for several months, and is now being used. We have been able to put processes in place to ensure the same levels of care, dignity and respect for loved ones, who may need to be located there before their family can pay their final respects. Please rest assured your loved one is looked after with the care that they deserve at all times."

A court order in New Zealand has been lifted meaning the man who killed a University of Lincoln graduate can be named.
Jesse Shane Kempson strangled Grace Millane in December 2018, a day before she was due to turn 22.
In February, Kempson was jailed for a minimum of 17 years for murdering Miss Millane in his hotel room in Auckland in December 2018.
The Millane family said they "do not think about him or speak his name".
In October, Kempson was convicted of eight charges relating to various attacks including using a knife against a woman between November 2016 and April 2017.
In November, Kempson was convicted by a separate judge sitting alone of raping another woman on their first and only date in April 2018.
Kempson, who had worked in various sales jobs, met both of the women through the dating app Tinder, as he had Miss Millane.
The 11-year jail term for these nine offences - all committed while he was living in Auckland - will be served after his sentence for Miss Millane's murder.
In a statement, the Millane family said the suppression of Kempson's name had "allowed people to remember Grace - a young, vibrant girl who set out to see the world, instead of the man who took her life".
