  4. Sister of pupil reports stabbing took place 'inside the atrium'published at 17:24

    The incident is believed to have involved up to five pupils.

    The boys, who were seriously hurt, were in Year 11, and the stabbing is believed to have happened in the atrium (pictured), the 18-year-old sister of a Year 11 pupil told BBC News.

    "It was in the atrium so a bunch of kids would have seen it.

    "[my sister] was in the top of the English department but could hear screaming."

  5. School 'flooded with calls' after two boys seriously hurt in school stabbingpublished at 17:09

    An administrator at Kingsdale Foundation academy school said he was being "flooded with calls" from worried parents calling to find out where their children were as they had not come home yet.

    He said parents had already been sent a text about the stabbing and may receive another update later tonight.

    Kingsdale Foundation School in Dulwich has been evacuated and parents have been sent texts informing them of the stabbing, which police said took place "at a school site."

    An air ambulance is at the scene.

    A woman whose 15-year-old sister attends the school said "the kids were quite distressed."

    In a statement, London Ambulance Service (LAS) says: "We were called at 15:27 to reports of a stabbing on Alleyn Park, SE21.

    "We sent multiple resources, including two ambulance crews, an incident response officer and London's Air Ambulance to the scene.

    "We treated two patients at the scene and took them to hospital."

    A 15-year-old has been critically hurt in a suspected stabbing earlier at Kingsdale Foundation School in Alleyn Park, Dulwich.

    Another 15-year-old has been hurt and is in a stable condition, police said.

    One person has been arrested.

    Labour London mayoral candidate Sadiq Khan has backed the decision to kill the Islamic State militant from West London known as "Jihadi John" in sharp contrast to his party leader's position on the issue.

    Mr Khan - who voted against airstrikes on Syria two years ago - said the country was safer as a result of the US drone strike - in a joint operation with the UK - which killed Mohammed Emwazi in Syria earlier this month.

    The comments go against the views of Islington North MP and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn who's questioned the legality of drone strikes.

  12. PC Yvonne Fletcher's family still want 'resolution'published at 15:59

    The father of murdered policewoman Yvonne Fletcher had "one regret" before his death - that he never saw his daughter's killer brought to justice, her family said. 

    Relatives of PC Fletcher said they hoped for "closure" after she was gunned down 31 years ago during a protest outside the Libyan embassy in central London.

    A Libyan man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder the 25-year-old officer, in what police have described as a "significant turning point" in the inquiry into her death. 

    In a statement after the arrest was confirmed, PC Fletcher's family said: "Recently we have had to come to terms with another loss through the death of Yvonne's father, Tim. 

    "His one regret in life was that no one had been arrested in connection with the murder of his daughter and he never witnessed any justice. 

    "Resolving this crime is still important to all the family."

    No-one has been injured.

    The traffic lights have failed at Chelsea Embankment junction with Battersea Bridge. 

    Police are directing drivers.

  15. British Muslims 'more effective at tackling extremism than anybody else'published at 15:30

    Labour London mayoral candidate Sadiq Khan says British Muslims have a special role to play in the fight against extremism. 

    In a keynote speech today he says British Muslims "can be more effective at tackling extremism than anybody else".

    He is talking to Drivetime with Eddie Nestor on BBC Radio London from 18:00 when he will be explaining how he sees this working.

  18. Camila's office was like an 'Arabian tent with tealights and cushions'published at 14:21

    Mr Loughton says Camila Batmanghelidjh's "office is rather like a sort of Arabian desert tent with lots of cushions and tealights around where you sort of sit cross-legged on the cushions."

    He says the first time he went to Kids Company there was a lack of children: "When I went to visit the office of Camila and went to have a one-to-one meeting with her in her tent inside the office, again expecting to see some children she would want to tell me their stories, again they were missing. So it always was disappointing and gave rise to certain queries."

    He was giving evidence to the Public Administration select committee, which is investigating government payments to the charity.
