    David McKelvey told the Panorama programme he became the subject of a corruption investigation after he reported intelligence that he was the target of a one million pound hit.

    At Mornington Crescent, the A400 Hampstead Road is blocked southbound at Harrington Square after an accident. 

    On the M25 clockwise, two lanes are shut between J24 Potters Bar and J25 Enfield after an accident. There are queues to J23 A1M. 

    And all Heathrow Express trains have been taken out of service after engineers found a structural fault on one of its trains.

    A woman was attacked in Tottenham Marshes on Tuesday last week, police say. 

    At around 18:00 on 23 February a 38-year-old woman was thrown to the ground, in Mill Mead Road, by a man who ran away when her cries for help attracted the attention of people on the other side of the River Lea.

    Detectives are looking for a man around 6ft tall, described as black and of slim build, aged in his 20s.

    England midfielder Rachel Yankey has signed a new contract with Arsenal Ladies.

    The 36-year-old, capped 129 times by England, has won eight league titles, nine FA Cups and one Uefa Women's Cup since her Gunners debut at the age of 16.

    She made nine league appearances as Arsenal finished third in Women's Super League One last season.

  9. Men accused of prisoner escape plan enter pleas at Woolwich Crown Courtpublished at 15:45 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February 2016

    Three men have pleaded guilty to taking part in an attempt to free a prisoner while he was being transferred to Wood Green Crown Court in north London.

    Nathan Mason, 30, and Izzet Eren, 32, of Vicarage Road, Tottenham, Gokay Sogucakli, 18, of the Roundway, Tottenham, all pleaded guilty - and admitted to possessing an imitation firearm in a hearing at Woolwich Crown Court.

    Two other men, Ozcan Eren 31, of Douglas Road, Wood Green, and Eren Hayser, 25, of Kettering Road, Enfield, pleaded not guilty to both charges.

    The incident happened on 11 December last year, when Izzet Eren and another defendant were being transported from Wormwood Scrubs prison to be sentenced at the court.

    Jermaine Baker was killed after a police officer fired a single shot during the operation.

    Mitch has accused Asif Kapadia, who was at the helm of the controversial movie Amy, of ‘fooling everybody’ and taken a further swipe at what he deems a ‘spiteful’ portrayal of his daughter’s life.

    A temporary encampment has been discovered in the woods of Old Coulsdon, external and while no one has been observed actually living there, the careful construction and materials used indicate that it could well be the temporary home of a construction worker who has been unable to find – or afford – more conventional rented accommodation.

    An additional order for 195 Routemasters for London worth £62m has been confirmed at Northern Ireland firm Wrightbus by the capital's mayor Boris Johnson.

    Mr Johnson confirmed the deal on a visit to the company on Monday.

    He is also expected to visit two other manufacturers on Monday who supply parts for London buses and trains.
