  1. Ex-MP considers suing police over abuse claimspublished at 10:27 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November 2016

Ex-Conservative MP Harvey Proctor is considering legal action against the Metropolitan Police following a highly critical report on the Met's investigation of child sexual abuse allegations against him.

Mr Proctor has been given a face-to-face apology by the Met Commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe after a former judge revealed failings in the police investigations into the ex-MP and others.

He was accused by a man, known by the pseudonym Nick, of child rape and murder in October 2014.

Mr Proctor told presenter Ritula Shah about the stress and strain he had suffered over an 18 month period.

Black women in England are almost twice as likely to be diagnosed with advanced breast cancer as white women, according to a new analysis by Cancer Research UK and Public Health England.

Late-stage disease is found in about 25% of black African and 22% of black Caribbean breast cancer patients.

In white breast cancer patients, the figure is 13%.

Experts say there are many reasons for this. Vital ones to change are low awareness of symptoms and screening.

  7. Croydon tram crash: What interim report might saypublished at 09:13 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November 2016

    Tom Edwards
    Transport Correspondent, BBC London

I’ve been told the interim report from the Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) is not going to be long so I don’t think we will get a lot of detail.

We already know the tram was going too fast on the bend, the crucial question we’re all trying to find out is why.

We might get the speed of the tram, we might get some urgent safety recommendations but the full investigation is going to take many, many months.

  9. Croydon Tram Crash: New Addington remains in shock, one week onpublished at 08:56 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November 2016

    Jason Rosam
    BBC Radio London

New Addington is in shock, you can sense it in the air here. The people are trying to go about their normal daily lives but there’s constant reminders of what happened seven days ago.

Here at the parade of shops where I’m standing there’s a makeshift memorial to the victims – it’s got flowers, cards, photos, candles and messages for those lost.

One message hung onto a tree really says what the mood is perfectly: “It’s so sad that you started your day from here only to lose your lives 20 minutes later. You will never be forgotten.”

Doing this job I stop people in the street who are rushing to work, a lot of people ignore me or brush me past, but every person I’ve spoken to has taken the time to stop and talk to me and that’s unusual.
