    Uber Eats drivers have staged protests over pay.

    They were protesting changes to the payment structure, claiming rates for every delivery had been reduced without agreement.

    Uber Eats say the changes were made "in response to feedback from courier" and "will help increase earnings during busy mealtimes."

    Two people have been injured after a gunman opened fire on a north London street.

    Armed police were deployed and witnesses reported people running from the scene after several shots were fired by the assailant on Essex Road, Islington, on Thursday night.

    The suspect then fled the scene on foot, the Metropolitan Police said. I

    A Met Police spokesman said: "Police were called at approximately 9.30pm on Thursday to reports of shots fired on Essex Road in Islington.

    "Officers, including firearms officers, attended.

    "A 34-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were found suffering from minor injuries.

    "The woman has been taken to hospital for treatment to a hand injury believed to have been caused by shattered glass. The man was treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service.

    "A bus sustained minor damage in the incident."

    Security concerns have been raised about the imminent release from prison of the radical preacher Anjem Choudary and other supporters of the banned extremist group al-Muhajiroun.

    About a dozen followers are out or will be soon, as restrictive terror protection orders on others end.

    A counter-terrorism activist says the group could become active again.

    Security Minister Ben Wallace told BBC News the government works to reduce the risk of freed terrorist offenders.
