    An offshore wind firm is funding Wells lifeboat for the next two years.

    Dong Energy is putting 90 turbines on the Race Bank, 17 miles north of Blakeney. 

    It will give £20,000 towards the boat's running costs.

  4. Government asked to extend phone mast funding deadlinepublished at 10:57

    A councillor hoping for better mobile phone communications in the Blakeney area says she will be lobbying the government to keep funding for the project.

    The company Arqiva was hoping to install a mast on National Trust land but withdrew its plans after objections delayed the process so much that it missed government funding opportunity.

    A planned phone mast for Blakeney won't now be built after the company behind the application, Arqiva, pulled out because it couldn't install the mast in time to qualify for government funding.

  7. Theme park apologises after watchdog criticises Halloween clown advertpublished at 10:07

    The owner of the Dinosaur Adventure Park in Lenwade has apologised after the Advertising Standards Authority upheld complaints about a bloodied clown featured on posters for its Primeval Halloween attraction. 

    The ASA said the posters, some of which were outside shops near schools, were "irresponsibly targeted".

    High tides, external along Norfolk's coastline this morning have passed with no reports of damage.

    In Wells, water lapped gently at the edge of the car park and further down the coast at Hemsby (pictured) the tide didn't even come in as far as the sea defences being put in. 

    The concrete blocks are being paid for by the local community which two years ago lost five homes to the December storm surge.

    A dinosaur theme park has been told to tone down its Halloween marketing by the Advertsing Standards Authority after it upheld 23 complaints against a poster.

    The park at Lenwade was told the poster of a bloodied clown on display near schools was likely to distress children and was "irresponsibly targeted".

    Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a man at a flat in Great Yarmouth.

    Andrew McGowan was found with serious injuries after police were called to reports of a disturbance on 14 November at a flat off Dickens Avenue.

    Another man and a woman arrested earlier this month remain on bail.
