    National Express and First group have also been shortlisted but the Abellio/Stagecoach bid was seen in political circles as being the favourite because Stagecoach, external has a good reputation and a lot of money.

    The brother of a man murdered 31 years ago has this morning put in an official complaint against Norfolk Police after it transpired they lost or destroyed some case evidence. 

    Peter Miller, 24, was stabbed to death in Great Yarmouth on 9 December 1984.  

    His brother, Tony, was speaking after it emerged 170 case exhibits had been destroyed, returned or lost.

    I understand that Abellio intends to continue with its bid to run the East Anglia franchise on its own after Stagecoach pulled out of a joint deal.

    The company, external says it has enough money to operate the service as a single venture.

    The decision by Stagecoach to pull out of a deal to run the East Anglia rail franchise with Abellio has "surprised" Norwich North Conservative MP Chloe Smith.

    Stagecoach says it's been unable to reach an agreement with Abellio on certain elements of the bid.

    Stagecoach has announced it will not be putting a joint bid to run the East Anglia line with Abellio Greater Anglia.

    The firm announced the news a short while ago.

    Norfolk police say they still believe they will find the killer of a Great Yarmouth man stabbed to death 31 years ago today. 

    Tony Miller, brother of victim Peter Miller, is handing in an official complaint to police about the way the case has been handled, after it emerged some evidence had been lost.

    A five-year-old girl is being treated in hospital after being hit by a car.

    The girl, believed to have been with her mother at the time, was knocked over on Reepham Road, Hellesdon this morning.

    She's suffered a broken leg and facial injuries.

    Emergency services are treating a five-year-old girl who's been knocked over on Reepham Road. Hellesdon. 

    The girl has a broken leg and facial injuries. It’s believed the mother was with her at the time.

    Police and ambulance crews are still at the scene and the road is closed.

    It's hoped a new TV and online advertising campaign will bring more people to Great Yarmouth, external next season.

    The 30-second commercial promoting the East Coast resort premiered last night at the town's Hollywood Cinema.

    It will be shown on regional TV and YouTube over coming weeks.

    Norfolk police say evidence destroyed in a unsolved murder case is not vital to the investigation.

    Det Supt Paul Durham said it was frustrating that some exhibits were destroyed in 1991 but that it wouldn't hamper the case, which was still open.

    Norfolk police have confirmed, external many of the 170 exhibits from the case were destroyed more than 20 years ago.
