    The landlord of a north Norfolk pub says he feels he's been unfairly treated after his music licence was restricted by councillors.

    Dennis Gilligan, who runs The White Lady in Worstead, external, has been told he can also only play music outdoors at four weddings a year.

    People living nearby had complained about the noise.

    Norwich City left-back Harry Toffolo has joined League One side Peterborough United for the rest of the season.

    The 20-year-old, who has made one first-team appearance for the Canaries, played seven times on loan at Rotherham earlier this term. 

    He also spent much of last season on loan at Swindon Town, appearing 30 times for Posh's League One rivals.

    The wreck of a German submarine, lost for more than 100 years, was uncovered on a seabed 90kms (55 miles) off the Norfolk coast.

    Engineers working on a wind farm project discovered the U-boat lying on the seabed at a depth of 98ft (30m).

    The find was made in 2012, but the vessel has only now been officially identified.

    Each year, she visits WI members at West Newton village hall as part of her winter stay on the Norfolk estate.

    The monarch became a member of the Sandringham WI in 1943.

    The latest school league tables show the average number of children in a Norfolk, external school getting five A to C GCSEs has gone up to 54.9%, from 52.7%.

    The best-performing school was Wymondham College, external, where 87% of pupils got the grades.

    Firefighters called to a blaze in a Gorleston terraced house last night had to tackle a 3m-long jet of flame.

    The gas main within the house had fractured, the first time that fire station manager John Wilby had known this to happen.

    The remaining stock at Caithness Crystal in King's Lynn will be sold off next week, with the fittings and equipment going in an online sale next month.

    The glass-making company has announced its closure, saying it's struggled since the recession.

    It says it can no longer meet its overheads, citing a change in customer buying habits with more people using the internet to shop. Changes to the Hardwick Roundabout have led to fewer people dropping into the centre.

    A GP surgery in east Norfolk has been rated , external"oustanding" following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission.

    The Park Surgery, in Great Yarmouth, external, provides general medical services to 10,600 patients in the area, including Gorleston and Bradwell.

    The inspection, in November, found the practice met the needs of the people it served, providing an "innovative, caring effective and well-led service".

  13. German submarine discovery 'a surprise'published at 14:03

    Engineers working on a wind farm project off the Norfolk coast have discovered the wreck of a German U-boat, more than 100 years since it sank with the loss of its entire crew.

    The 57.6m-long (63yds) wreck is described as being in "remarkable condition", with damage found at the bow and stern, suggesting its original length could have been slightly longer.

    Four officers and 31 men were lost when a World War One U-Boat, from the Imperial German Navy, sank off the Norfolk coast more than 100 years ago.

    The submarine, discovered in 2012 by engineers working on a wind farm project, has only now been officially identified.

    The German submarine found lying on the seabed 90km (60 miles) east of the Norfolk coast was commissioned into the Imperial German Navy in September 1914.

    In January 1915, the SM U-31 slipped its mooring, sailing north-west from Wilhelmshaven for a routine patrol, and disappeared.  It's thought the submarine had struck a mine, sinking with the loss of its entire crew.

    The wreck, discovered by engineers working on a wind farm project, is 57.6m (63yds) long, 4.1m (4.5yds) wide, and 4.6m(5yds) high. The bow appears to be facing south, experts said.
