    Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed at a press conference this lunchtime that he is now wearing his second pair of glasses and has insisted Christian Benteke won't have to pay to replace the old pair.

    Klopp lost his specs as he celebrated Adam Lallana's dramatic stoppage-time winner in Liverpool FC's 5-4 victory over Norwich City on Saturday.

    The press conference was ahead of Liverpool's game against Stoke on Tuesday - it wasn't just to make an announcement about his glasses.

    Olympic gold medallist Victoria Pendleton has been continuing her apprenticeship as a jockey with North Norfolk Harriers. 

    Having retired from cycling, Pendleton (seen here in yellow and black) has taken on the challenge of riding in the Cheltenham Festival in March and took part in a Point-to-Point meeting at Higham, near Bury St Edmunds, yesterday.

    The 35-year old hadn't ridden a horse until 11 months ago but is building towards a planned ride in the Foxhunter Chase at Cheltenham. 

  3. Police in headless body inquiry find more than 260 missing women safe and wellpublished at 13:33

    A police inquiry to identify the headless body of a woman found more than 40 years ago near Swaffham has located more than 260 missing women safe and well around the country.

    The body was found in Cockley Cley in August 1974.  Det Insp Andy Guy of Norfolk police's cold case unit took over the investigation in 2007, bringing modern forensic techniques onto the case.

    It was revealed the woman had consumed water in a particular area of Scotland, and ate a diet heavy in fish and crabs.  They were able to rule out 555 of 590 active missing women cases.

  4. Whale: Humans 'partly to blame' for deathspublished at 13:22

    A conservationist says humans are partly to blame for the deaths of four whales that  have washed ashore in the Wash.

    A sperm whale died at Hunstanton on Friday night, and three others were found dead on the opposite side of The Wash at Skegness yesterday. They are believed to be part of a pod which stranded and died in the Netherlands.

  5. Gorleston manager resigns... then changes his mindpublished at 11:38

    The manager of Gorleston FC, external Ricci Butler has decided to stay in charge, despite resigning on Saturday. 

    Butler announced his resignation after a 2-1 defeat to Newmarket Town at Emerald Park but by Sunday evening he had changed his mind,

  6. Man falls from tower blockpublished at 11:09

    A man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after falling from a block of flats in Norwich.

    Police were called to Ashbourne Tower on Watling Road shortly before 18:30 last night, following reports that a man had fallen to the ground.

    An investigation is under way.

    Brit Award winner James Bay is to play at Thetford Forest this summer.

    The success of the singer songwriter has been acknowledged by the music industry on both sides of the Atlantic, with three Grammy Award nominations and four Brit Award nominations.

    His concert  on 1 July at Thetford Forest is one of a series of summer concerts promoted by the Forestry Commission.

  8. Whale: Carcass to be cut up on beachpublished at 10:19

    Council officials are  arranging the disposal of the carcass of a sperm whale that washed ashore at Hunstanton on Friday night.

    The animal, believed to weigh about 30 tonnes, will have to be cut up in situ and removed in sections.

    Brian Long, of West Norfolk Borough Council, says the authority is looking to start work once the tide has receded this morning, as "time is of the essence... the longer it goes on, the more unpleasant a task it will be".

  9. Watch: Hunstanton whale attracts sightseerspublished at 09:56

    Crowds of people went to Hunstanton beach at the weekend to see the body of a whale washed ashore on Friday night. 

    The sperm whale became lodged under rocks and could not be shifted back out to sea. Council officials are now considering how to dispose of the carcass.

    Security guards have been employed to prevent people scavenging from the corpse of a sperm whale stranded on Hunstanton beach.

    The body of the whale has become a tourist attraction, attracting hundreds of sightseers at the weekend.

    Brian Long, of West Norfolk Borough Council, external, said the guards would prevent people from touching it or removing parts of the body. The council is to employ a specialist contractor to remove the carcass.

    The Canaries were 3-1 up with 63 minutes gone before falling 4-3 behind after a series of defensive errors.. Sebastien Bassong hauled them level again in stoppage time only for Liverpool to snatch a winner.

    The City manager told me: "To concede with one minute to go to make it 5-4 just turned the afternoon into a bit of a rabble, to be honest."

    Hundreds of people went to Hunstanton beach at the weekend to see the body of a sperm whale that became trapped on rocks under the cliffs on Friday night.

    Three more whales were washed up at Skegness beach over the weekend, and researchers are investigating what killed the animals.

    Zoologist Rob Deaville, who's heading the investigation, believes the deaths may be linked to other strandings on the continent.
