A signal crossing on Cleveland Road, near the Grapes Hill roundabout, was removed when it and Bethel Street became two-way. It now means people have to cross without signals next to the busy roundabout, and some people say this puts their lives at risk.

Derek Pearce, 72, who is visually impaired, says he now has to wait until someone can help him cross.

City council spokesman Andy Watt said the council tried to take into account the needs of all road users, including those with disabilities, when designing road schemes, adding that members of the public were welcome to hear the debate when councillors received the petition.
