As arts venues up and down the east have turned red to show their solidarity for venues that have been forced to remain closed due to the coronavirus pandemic... we thought we would try to show some more...

So here is the turn of Milton Keynes, Cromer, Knebworth and Northampton for the #LightItInRed campaign.

The Norwich Theatre group, which manages three venues in the city, says it's relieved by the injection of £1.57bn for the arts industry.

Stephen Crocker said on behalf of the group that he was "hugely grateful" that the government has acknowledged the devastation coronavirus had caused the industry and it was a "very good first step".

"It's going to give us a period of reprieve," he said.

"Whilst I welcome this announcement, my call for a detailed reopening plan for venues still stands as this is an issue that is also critical for us in terms of longer-term planning."

The company said it remained concerned about people's confidence in returning to watch shows and would welcome the Prime Minister saying it was safe to do so with the right social distancing in place.

The group announced three-quarters of its staff faced job cuts and cancelled its Christmas panto last week.

Venues up and town the region were painted (not literally) red last night to raise the profile of arts venues, that have been hit hard during the coronavirus lockdown.

The #LightItInRed campaign on social media shows buildings and places in a red glow to "bring light to the situation of the events industry during the Covid-19 crisis".

"It’s a nice greeting to visitors to Walsingham just as we ease lockdown," he said in a social media post.

"Do you know anyone building or topping a flint wall anywhere nearby?

"Please report to police if you find or are offered reclaimed coping bricks - about 175 stolen from Walsingham Estate.

"We’ve had some stolen in the past and they were found at a reclaim centre.

"It ended up costing him a lot of money because he was unaware they were stolen."

The chief executive of a theatre that has had to cancel its Christmas panto because of a shortage of cash resulting from the Covid-19 lockdown is delighted the government is going to give the performing arts £1.5bn.

But Stephen Crocker, from the Theatre Royal Norwich, external, is concerned about future reopening dates.

"Whilst I hugely welcome this announcement we are still waiting on the details of reopening times for venues and for a lot of us the two things go hand in hand," he said.

"This is absolutely amazing because it's going to give us, you know, a reprieve.

"But actually for most of us what we want to do is to get back to what we usually do."
