Neil Jewell, 42, from north Norfolk, had paranoid schizophrenia and died after suffering a cardiac arrest in 2014.

But yesterday a jury at Ipswich Coroner's Court said neglect by staff contributed to his death.

The inquest found staff weren't monitoring him well enough and vital signs were missed.

The Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust, which runs mental health services, has apologised and said it has made changes to stop something like this happening again.

Christine Welfare, Mr Jewell's sister, said she was pleased with the findings.

"I am utterly relieved that the jury has agreed it was neglect which contributed to my brother's death. I am pleased for Neil that his voice had been heard," she said.

A Norfolk MP was encouraged to buy flowers for his wife after showing MPs her wrinkle cream.

Sir Henry Bellingham's revelation was jokingly deemed "outrageous" and "disgraceful" after he noted he found the product while "rummaging" through his wife's shampoo collection.

Environment minister and Suffolk Coastal MP Therese Coffey described Sir Henry's wife as a "flawless picture" and suggested he should give her some flowers as a way of making up for his comments.

Sir Henry made the remark as he encouraged ministers to urge manufacturer Procter & Gamble to remove the "completely outrageous" Olay product from shops due to the environmental damage caused by microbeads within it.

Ms Coffey replied: "It's fair to say that we are working with manufacturers now and a lot of them are starting to remove these products pro-actively.

"That's good news, but we want to make sure this avoidable pollution is taken out of our environment permanently."

Officers are searching for Nigel Kedar, 52, from Clacton, who was last seen walking southbound along the A140 corridor through Dickleburgh.

They are keen to speak to anyone who travelled through the village, Scole or Diss.

Nigel's sister Diana Mays appealed to anyone who may know where her brother is: "If anything's happened, or he feels he can't come home it doesn't matter, just tell him to come home.

"Whatever he's done we can sort it, we love him, we just want him home," she said.

  10. More than 30 people banned from Great Yarmouth shopspublished at 08:26 British Summer Time 20 April 2017

Great Yarmouth's town centre partnership, external says its wardens have banned 34 people from shops since January.

    Great Yarmouth

Retail crime figures also show the town is recording an average of one shoplifting offence every day for the past three months.

Beggars, street drinkers and homeless people in the town are worrying shoppers too, but town centre manager Jonathan Newman says perception of a situation doesn't necessarily mean there's a danger to shoppers.

"Somebody sitting in a doorway with a blanket over them doesn't present an immediate threat to anyone but it doesn't generate a perception of safety within the town centre either." he said.

"There's a public space protection order for the town centre so street drinking can be enforced.

"How you enforce against people sitting in doorways is another matter entirely."

  16. Norwich MP votes against 'grubby' early election motionpublished at 17:13 British Summer Time 19 April 2017

    Mariam Issimdar
    BBC News

The MP for Norwich South, Clive Lewis, has voted against an early general election.

    Clive Lewis MP

Thirteen MPs - including nine from Labour - voted against Prime Minister Theresa May's motion calling for an early election.

Speaking before the vote, Mr Lewis said his concerns about supporting the motion were around the Fixed Term Parliament Act brought in by the coalition in 2011.

"Now that it's inconvenient for the Conservative Party, they want to ditch it and they want us to be complicit in that and I feel that we should make Theresa May and the Conservative Party work for this.

"If she wants an election so badly I think she should vote on no confidence in her government."

Mr Clive added: "It feels grubby, it feels short-termist".

The House passed the vote for a general election by 522 votes to 13.
