    A Milton Keynes kitchen firm has delivered important supplies to the local ambulance service and a hospice.

    South Central Ambulance Service, which serves Buckinghamshire, thanked the Howdens Joinery team for their "amazing" donation of wipes, gloves, anti-bac and other items.

    It is set to stream a pre-recorded matinee performance of Peter Pan: A Magical Pantomime Adventure at 14:00 on Facebook Live, external.

    The production of JM Barrie's original story, adapted by Scott Ramsay and Kevin James, was a hit at the Essex theatre in 2017.

    Councils across Norfolk are telling people “if you are in need, we will be there for you”.

    The government has told 1.4m vulnerable people in the UK not to leave their homes for 12 weeks, with the list also sent to local authorities to tell them what support people need.

    Trevor Holden, in charge of Norfolk’s public services’ response, external, said councils had gone a step further and would write to everyone in the county to ask if they needed help, while a helpline - 0344 8008020 – had also been set up.

    He said: "We should be getting food today which should find its way to people by the end of the week - but if someone is reading this and thinking ‘but I need food now’ please don’t wait. Give us a call and we will help you."

    Fallon Sherrock will play a darts exhibition in Milton Keynes and donate all proceeds to the town's hospital.

    The Buckinghamshire player made history when she became the first woman to beat a man at the PDC World Darts Championship in December.

    Sherrock said the exhibition would take place "once we all get back to normal" and asked for anyone with a suitable venue to contact her management Modus Darts, external.

    A golf club has put out a plea for members to help "manage the course" after it found a family using a bunker as a sand pit.

    Playing golf was postponed after strict rules were placed on people's personal movement to limit the spread of coronavirus.

    Verulam Golf Club, external in St Albans said it had not been surprised to see members of the public walking round the course and while "most had been lovely and aware of their surroundings" there had been a few concerning incidents.

    General manager Paul Keen said he recently removed "two groups of lads on bikes" and a family were having a picnic by the 11th green while their children used a bunker as a sandpit.

    "Literally in there with buckets and spades," he said.

    "With the temperatures set to rise my fear is that we could be flooded with many more residents over the next few days."

    The British military's Covid Support Force, external has deployed 80 personnel to assist South Central Ambulance Service, external which covers Buckinghamshire as well as Berkshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Sussex and Surrey.

    The Defence Secretary announced new measures to enable armed forces personnel to support public services in response to the coronavirus outbreak last week.

    The personnel drawn from all three armed services will specifically help the ambulance service man emergency vehicles as well as take calls at its emergency response centres, according to a Ministry of Defence statement, external.

    Luxury boat-builder, Fairline Yachts, has announced it is scaling back its operations due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

    Fairline, based in Oundle, Northamptonshire, says 340 of its staff will be furloughed for an initial period of three weeks, from today.

    However, a skeleton team comprising boat builders and a limited number of back office support workers will continue to complete existing orders.

    Some 370 jobs were lost in Corby in 2015 following a takeover of the company.

    Hertfordshire's police and crime commissioner has said the county's force has taken the right tone in dealing with the public, when enforcing the new coronavirus laws.

    David Lloyd said: "It has only been a week since the new powers were enacted, but we have seen an excellent reaction from both Hertfordshire Constabulary and the public.

    "We have not had the issues of overzealous policing other areas have had or any significant breaches of the rules. That is a tribute to the way it has been handled by our officers and the sensible behaviour of residents."

    Mr Lloyd also revealed reported crime in the county fell by 50% last week compared to a normal week but there had been a "small increase in domestic violence reports".

    He said confidential support and advice for all crime is available through the Beacon, external, the county’s Victim Care Centre.

    The force itself said it had had "a number of calls" about groups gathering in open spaces and wanted to remind people of the importance of social-distancing to help reduce the spread of coronavirus, protect the NHS and save lives.

    Respirators are used to allow medical staff to breathe safely

    Boxes containing respirators have been stolen from outside a property in Harlow where they were waiting to be collected by a courier.

    It happened in Hollyfield in the Passmores area at about 14:50 on Friday 27 March.

    Essex Police said two men in a black car were seen driving away.

    Anyone with information or CCTV is asked to call the Harlow Local Policing team on 101 quoting crime reference 42/46908/20.

    Special arrangements for families and friends to be able to drop off personal items to patients under the current visiting restrictions have been introduced at Milton Keynes University Hospital, external.

    It is currently not allowing visitors to the hospital, with a few exceptions, external, but will now allow one plastic bag of items per patient which can include clothes, toiletries, books and magazines, cards, notes, pictures, non-perishable foods and drinks in sealed containers.

    Those who would like to drop off a bag should mark it with the patient's name and date of birth and take it to hospital reception before 14:00 each day.

    It said valuable items such as electrical items and jewellery should not be included and it also cannot accept flowers or balloons.
