Northamptonshire Police are the first in the country to introduce a scheme enabling deaf people to communicate with the control room using sign language.
Using a webcam or the camera on a tablet or phone, deaf people can call a interpreter and use sign language to communicate. The interpreter would then relay the information to the police control room.

Staff at Northampton Town has been paid their wages for October and November the club has confirmed. They hadn't been paid for two months due to the, now dismissed, winding-up petition over unpaid taxes.
Cobblers Chairman Kelvin Thomas said: "It was a priority for us to pay the wages as soon as technically possible for our employees especially in the build up to Christmas."

The body of Aaron Edwards, 31, from Burton Latimer, who was on a "boys' holiday" in Egypt, was found in another guest's hotel room in Sharm El Sheikh on 7 March 2014.
A pathologist found he died as a result of heroin use, but his friends insisted he had not taken drugs and there was no evidence of him injecting heroin.
The coroner said it was possible he had come to have heroin in his system through having his drink spiked and returned a narrative verdict.

Northampton Borough Council says the outstanding £10.25m loan to Northampton Town will end of costing them more as they try to recoup the money.
Council leader Mary Markham says the authority asked several times about where the money had gone, but found getting information out of Northampton Town "difficult".

It's a year-long volunteering campaign where both stations will be asking people to pledge one million hours of time to good causes over the next 12 months.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has published a further 34 reports on the quality of care provided by GP practices and have found the Dr Spencer and Partners practice in Burton Latimer "requires improvement".
The CQC says it "expects the practice to take the necessary steps to address the issues". It will reinspect at a later date to check the improvements have been made.

The British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC) has said "there has been no formal offer" received from Jaguar Land Rover to buy Silverstone Circuit.
The Financial Times reported that Jaguar Land Rover had prepared a bid, external for the home of the British Grand Prix and a spokesman for the circuit said that "should an attractive offer be received from any party, the BRDC Board would seek a mandate from Club members before progressing it."
