    One of the residents of Netherfield Grove in Corby has told me flooding in her street means she is trapped in her house.

    The road ends up six inches deep in water after heavy rain and can take a long time to drain away, with water on the road even on dry days.

    Sylvia Rae uses a mobility scooter to get about, but told me: “I can't get out when it's flooded. I can't get up the town to do my bits and bobs. Someone's got to come and do something about it."

    The county council is facing growing pressures, external in areas like children's services and adult social care - but has a falling income.

    The ruling Conservatives have proposed a budget for the next financial year that includes restructuring how the council works - but also £77m in cuts from the schools meals service to closing care homes.

    Residents in Corby say their road floods every time it rains heavily, and has done so for at least the last 18 months.

    Netherfield Grove, on the Lloyds estate, can end up six inches (15cm) deep in water.

    Residents have told me Anglian Water and Northamptonshire County Council have both denied responsibility. We've contacted both for a response.
