Northampton Borough Council leader Mary Markham says businesses "are interested" in re-developing Sixfields.

The money from any development project would be used to cover a £10.25m loan made to Northampton Town, which the club has failed to repay.

A police officer sacked for drinking two bottles of wine the night before she drove into work "undermined" the drink-drive message, according to the force.

Chief Constable Simon Edens found PC Wendy Bruce had committed gross misconduct and said her actions were the "antithesis of what she, as a police officer, was on duty to do".

One of the residents of Netherfield Grove in Corby has told me flooding in her street means she is trapped in her house.

The road ends up six inches deep in water after heavy rain and can take a long time to drain away, with water on the road even on dry days.

Sylvia Rae uses a mobility scooter to get about, but told me: “I can't get out when it's flooded. I can't get up the town to do my bits and bobs. Someone's got to come and do something about it."

Today is the last opportunity to comment on millions of pounds worth of cuts at Northamptonshire County Council - consultation on all the council's plans closes at 17:00.

The county council is facing growing pressures, external in areas like children's services and adult social care - but has a falling income.

The ruling Conservatives have proposed a budget for the next financial year that includes restructuring how the council works - but also £77m in cuts from the schools meals service to closing care homes.

Residents have told me Anglian Water and Northamptonshire County Council have both denied responsibility. We've contacted both for a response.
