    It will be a windy night with a few scattered showers, and it will become cold as temperatures fall to 1C (34F).

    Much of Tuesday will be dry with sunny spells, but there will be a chance of one or two showers with temperatures peaking at 7C (45F).

    Northampton Town boss Chris Wilder dismissed any chance of leaving the club for the vacant Barnsley job.

    He told me how he was happy at the Cobblers and that he worked for "good people".

    Work, set to take over a year, to put in new pavements, street light and trees into St Giles Street, Fish Street and St Giles Square will begin later this month.

    The £3m scheme will start on Monday, 22 February, but will pause between October this year and the end of January so businesses are not disrupted by roadworks over the Christmas period.

    Northamptonshire Police have won an international award for the introduction of a panel to assess stop-and-search.

    The Reasonable Grounds Panel was set up 18 months ago to scrutinise the grounds for stop-and-searches and the officers that have carried them out.

    In that time eight Northamptonshire officers have had their powers taken away.

    Northampton Town manager Chris Wilder has dismissed reports linking him to the vacant Barnsley managerial job, telling me he's going to get his "head down and get on" with the job at the Cobblers.

    Bristol City appointed Barnsley head coach Lee Johnson as their new boss last week, and Wilder told me he wasn't surprised to be linked with the job as it was "20 minutes from my house" - but added he is "happy" at Northampton Town.

    I've been out in Daventry District to talk to people about plans to collect general waste - that's put in a black wheelie bin - once every three weeks from 2018. These are the answers to the most common questions I've been asked...

    What about nappies? Councillors are considering a separate nappy collection

    The recycling flies all over the street - what are they going to do about that?Open boxes would be replaced by one wheelie bin for all recycling. This would be collected once a fortnight

    Four other people who were on police bail - aged 12, 17, 19 and 20 - will not face any charges in relation to a fire at a multi-storey car park in Corby.

    Three boys, two aged 14 and one 13-year-old, are set to appear at Wellingborough Magistrates' Court charged with arson on Thursday, police revealed today.

    Residents from nearby flats had to be evacuated as a result of the fire in December 2014.

    Three boys charged with arson in relation to a fire at Willow Place Shopping Centre in Corby will appear at Wellingborough Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

    The boys, two aged 14 and one 13-year-old, previously appeared at Wellingborough Youth Court on 14 January.

    Six fire engines and more than 30 firefighters attended the incident blaze at a multi-storey car park at the centre in December 2014.

    There will be a further overnight closure tonight on Mereway in Northampton as roadworks continue. Unexpected heavy rain last night delayed scheduled road marking work.

    There will be a full closure of Mereway between the Queen Eleanor roundabout and the Towcester Road junction from 20:00 until 05:00 tomorrow.

    Currently one lane westbound is closed from Queen Eleanor roundabout to the supermarket roundabout for "safety reasons" as there is not adequate line marking.

    Event management firm SHOWSEC have announced the creation of more than 200 jobs after signing a four year contract with Silverstone.

    The company will provide event stewarding and security services at the Northamptonshire venue after working at the track in 2015.

  19. Kingsthorpe church ready for demolitionpublished at 13:04

    Yesterday saw the last service at Kingsthorpe Methodist Church in its current building. The church is currently being emptied ready for demolition.

    This is the preliminary architect's drawings of what will replace the building.

    As yet no planning application has yet been submitted, but it is possible it will contain plans for housing and retail units as well as the church.
