  3. Northampton group helps provide prosthetic limbs and medical help to Indiapublished at 17:47

    A Northampton charity has helped to provide prosthetic limbs to some of the poorest people in the world. 

    The Northampton Punjabi Association was set up three years ago by a local businessman to help raise funds for charities in the UK and India.

    The group's Prosthetic Limb Project has now provided help to children and adults in northern India.

    Seven-year-old Krishna (above) was unable to use his legs due to a blockage in his brain affecting the nerves. Now, with a leg brace, he is able to support himself and take small steps.

    Thirteen cyber-stalking offences have been reported in the county since Northamptonshire Police launched a new approach to tackle online abuse.

    This week is National Stalking Awareness week, and the campaign has highlighted the fact that one in five women in the UK will be stalked in their lifetime.

    Last month, the county's force launched a new strategy to tackle the problem.

    The remains of five lambs have been found in a field on the outskirts of Northampton.

    They were discovered on Saturday in a field just outside the village of Little Brington, on the road towards Great Brington.

    The police are asking anyone with any information, or who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area, to call 101.

    The matron in charge of the home birth team at Northampton General Hospital says the maternity unit was "very proactive" in encouraging women to have their babies at home, leading to the creation of the dedicated team six years ago.

    Matron Paul Briody said the service, which held a party yesterday, had "grown and grown" mainly due to "word of mouth".

    The Conservative Party in Northampton South says it was not aware of the source of donations made to its general election campaign.

    It comes after we revealed the fighting fund of MP David Mackintosh was passed money from a company being investigated over the disappearance of millions of pounds of taxpayers' money.

    Yesterday, the BBC reported £30,000 in donations to David Mackintosh's election campaign fund was sent from 1st Land Ltd. The company, which is now in liquidation, received loan money that originated from Northampton Borough Council and was intended for redevelopment at Sixfields.

    There is no definitive evidence the council's loan money found its way into the election campaign.

    In a new statement, the Northampton South Conservative Association says it was not "aware of a common link between the three donors and 1st Land".

    Mr Mackintosh has told us he welcomes the investigations into the missing cash earmarked for the town's football stadium.

    Liam Condron, from Age UK in Northamptonshire, says a new campaign to tackle social isolation is long overdue.

    Age UK, along with the county council, has launched 'Get Connected' , externalwith a series of events this week.

    Mr Condron said it was important that loneliness was now "higher up the agenda". "For a long time we thought that loneliness was something we could do nothing about," he said.

    The home birth team from Northampton General Hospital has been celebrating its sixth year, with a party for families.

    The hospital boasts one of the highest rates of home births in the whole country, with around 4% of mothers under its care having their babies delivered at home, while the national average is 2.3%.

    Work has started on the derelict St Edmund's Hospital site in Northampton to turn it into a care home and retirement village. The site has been empty since 1998, and has been hit by vandalism and fire.

    League Two champions Northampton Town are back in action tonight, facing Crawley at Sixfields.

    It'll be something of a start of a four-game lap of honour, after the Cobblers clinched the title with a 0-0 draw away to Exeter on Saturday.
