    A spokesman for the developer of the St Edmund's Hospital site admits that people have been "driven mad" by delays to the development.

    Ashley Riley, who speaks for Kayalef Holdings, said the developer was working with Northampton Borough Council to meet a "range of planning" criteria.

    He said it was to ensure there wasn't "another failed planning application" for the derelict site.

    A yellow dress might prove as inspirational as a green jacket for Burton Latimer's Charley Hull, who is seeking to emulate Danny Willett's major breakthrough this year.

    Hull, 20, meanwhile has found a new mental state that might yield British glory on the women's circuit. It has already brought a second-place finish in the year's opening major, the ANA Inspiration.

    "I don't think about golf when I'm actually on the golf course," she said.

    "I teed up this shot and I was actually thinking about this dress I had ordered. This is so funny, it's a yellow dress I ordered, and I'm thinking about it."

    Work is starting this morning to make the St Edmund's Hospital site in Northampton safe.

    The site has been derelict for years and has been plagued by fire and vandalism.

    Last year plans were approved in principle for a retirement village and care home there.

    A campaign has started this week to raise awareness of the issue of social isolation in Northamptonshire, and the impact this has on people's health and wellbeing.

    It being launched with a series of events organised by the county council and Age UK.

    Both Kettering General and Northampton General have told the BBC they are already putting plans in place ahead of the next junior doctors strike on 26 and 27 April.

    Striking junior doctors will be completely withdrawing their labour between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, and will not be providing emergency cover as they have done during previous strikes.

    Dr Kishor Patel, from Kettering General Hospital, said that on the those days the public needed to "think about what alternatives there are to hospital". Those with scheduled appointments will be contacted if they are cancelled.
