    Northamptonshire Police say the fire service has begun recovery work to remove the lorry stuck under the low bridge near Althorp.

    They say the road is currently closed between Harlestone and East Haddon and are advising motorists to take an alternative route.

    Northampton Town manager Chris Wilder told me the club "smashed it" in its title-winning season.

    Wilder made the remarks during Sunday's open-top bus parade through the town, where chairman Kelvin Thomas also described the League Two title as a "fairytale".

    The campaign group that tried to stop the sale of ancient Egyptian statue Sekhemka has announced it's now winding itself up.

    Despite much controversy the statue was sold by Northampton Borough Council for £15.76m to an anonymous buyer in 2014. The government recently lifted an export ban, meaning it can now leave the country.

    The Save Sekhemka Action Group says although it's now ceasing its campaign, it will offer advice and support to any group wanting to stop UK museums selling exhibits.

    Michael Appleton's claim that his second-placed Oxford side have been the best team in League Two are "embarrassing", says Northampton defender David Buchanan.

    "If you look through all the leagues from the Premier League right down to League Two, the biggest margin of victory [13 points] is Northampton Town's," he said.

    He also told BBC Radio Northampton: "How people come out and say they're the best team in the league is a bit disrespectful to ourselves."

    On day one of their County Championship game against Leicestershire, Northants opted to field first and enjoyed an early breakthrough when in-form Paul Horton was trapped lbw.

    But after that, Leicestershire's batsmen prospered and guided them to 311-5 at stumps.
