    Sam Read
    BBC Radio Northampton politics reporter

Children's services is another area to face cuts at the county council, after it said some of its £65m-worth of savings wouldn't be met.

These areas are to be reviewed:

    • Children's Services Mental Health provision
    • Remodelling of Youth Offending Service
    • Make a more focused and joined-up Children's Disability Service

The fact is you can't make cuts on the scale the county council is proposing today without job losses. But as it stands, it's just not clear which posts are at risk or how many. That means a time of uncertainty.

  11. Council to look at new children's services and social care cuts as £65m savings plan stallspublished at 16:26 British Summer Time 29 July 2016

    Sam Read
    BBC Radio Northampton politics reporter

Northamptonshire County Council is to consider millions of pounds of new cuts to adult social care and children's services.

It's because the authority now says more than half of the £65m in savings announced earlier this year may not be achieved.

It still has to save the same amount of money, but the ways it wanted to save the money are not going to be achievable, so it's seeing if it can cut back in other areas.

The authority will carry out a review of Mental Health provision and the Youth Offending Service as part of its plans.

It says the cuts are likely to mean job losses, but it is not clear which posts are under threat or how many.

In the police video played to the jury, officers could be seen running into the house shouting.

  20. Organiser 'proud' of 'fun' Silverstone Classicpublished at 12:01 British Summer Time 29 July 2016

    Tom Percival
    BBC Radio Northampton

The organiser of the Silverstone Classic has told me the three things he wants the event to be are "British, classic and fun".

    Silverstone classic

Nick Wigley said he and other organisers were "very proud" of the three-day event, which will attract 100,000 spectators to Silverstone, adding he is "glad that it come through that it is fun".

So far today I've seen sports cars from pre-1961, historic touring cars, Formula 1 cars from the era when the engine noise made your chest vibrate.

Then there's a classic car auction and owners clubs for just about every legendary make of car you can think of.

And many don't just sit there to be admired. Drivers get the chance to race around the Silverstone Circuit, meaning there aren't just car owners, but also mechanics, engineers and racing car enthusiasts at the event.
