Remember the tent village on Cliff Road? Well the city council is now seeking a possession order which could see bailiffs move in to clear the tents next week.

“Alongside this, we have served notice on the site today for a closure order and intend to provide evidence to court on Friday of anti-social behaviour on the site unacceptably affecting local residents," a spokesman for the authority said.

If granted, the order could be enforced the same day, allowing the site to be cleared by the police.

It took Gedling Borough Council almost 10 months to trace the man who dumped 14 tyres in a ditch in Mapperley.

And when the authority's neighbourhood warden finally caught up with Paul Henry, he claimed it was his "identical twin" who was responsible.

The 52-year-old even tried to evade conviction by giving old addresses but the wardens persevered, working with the Police and Department of Work and Pensions to help find Mr Henry and serve him the court papers.
