    It is staying dry as we head into the evening with clear spells for the rest of the day and overnight.

    There will be a widespread frost with temperatures down to -1C in Nottingham but as low as -5C in rural areas.

    There will also be some patchy freezing fog forming again too which will stay until the morning and lead to a frosty start for Thursday.

    Star Wars fans may be excited by this shed which has been donated to Stonebridge City Farm in St Ann's.

    Farm manager Marie Rodgers said they will use it as a potting shed for children's workshops or as a playing area.

  5. Police praise courage of child abuse victimpublished at 17:40

    Operation Daybreak which has seen its first conviction of 62-year-old Ivor Bethell today is one of Nottinghamshire Police's largest investigations with a potential 150 abusers.

  7. Police hope conviction will encourage others to reportpublished at 17:21

    Ivor Bethell, 62, has been described by police as a "dangerous man" , externaland previously served a sentence for 10 years in 2003 for rape.

    He will now been placed on the sex offenders' register for life and has been banned from having any contact with girls under 16.

    Detectives praised his victims' courage for coming forward and say they hope the conviction will encourage others to report similar crimes.

    Today police have seen their first conviction as a result of an investigation into the historic abuse of children in Nottinghamshire care homes.

    Ivor Bethell from Wembley has been given a 19-year sentence at Nottingham Crown Court after he admitted several charges of rape and indecency with a child.

    The police investigation - Operation Daybreak - has looked into allegations of sexual offences against children in care homes going back more than 30 years.

    Bethell's crimes didn't happen in a care home but came to light as a result of inquiries carried out under this operation.

    This week Notts TV has been to Eastwood to speak to Claire Eadie who has found a way to deal with her panic attacks - colouring in.

    She said: "I thought if I could concentrate on filling in the gaps just for 20 minutes while this [panic attack] eases down it might help me through it."

  12. Residents warned of arrests over 'thief shaming'published at 15:55

    Clifton residents say they have resorted to posting images on social media from their personal CCTV cameras of people they think are responsible for bike thefts and criminal damage in the area.

    They claim the police "aren't bothered" about the crimes.

    But they've now been warned by Nottinghamshire Police that they face arrest themselves if they continue to take the law into their own hands.

    Tommy Lawton pleaded to Richard Attenborough for a loan of £250 in his letter. 

    We're not sure why he so desperately needed the cash, but his filmstar friend sent a cheque for £100.

    Tommy Lawton was the greatest centre forward of his era scoring 231 goals in 390 league games and 22 goals for England.  

    He was an entertainer who fans wanted to see, among them Richard Attenborough.

    But Lawton played his football at the wrong time.  

    Clubs may have been wealthy, but players weren’t. Tommy was reckoned to be on about £15 a week at his peak and his career was also interrupted by World War Two.

    Nottingham Panthers forward David Clarke will not face any further action after the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) reviewed the penalty given against Belfast on Friday.

    In a statement they said after checking the penalty, the Department of Player Safety (DOPS) had decided the correct call was made on the ice.

    Sir Vince Cable has been made an Honorary Professor in the School of Economics at the University of Nottingham. 

    The former Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, says he's had links with Nottingham which span many years including as Special Professor.

    He says he's privileged to accept the role and plans to be actively involved in the University's development.   

  17. Former Notts County footballer's begging letter to film starpublished at 14:10

    Have a read of the letter Notts County footballer Tommy Lawton sent to film star Richard Attenborough begging for money. 

    The England legend wrote a series of letters in the 1970s asking for help after falling on hard times.
