We told you earlier today that Nottinghamshire Police has been criticised by government inspectors for not giving the right support to vulnerable victims of crime.
Deputy chief constable Sue Fish has told BBC Radio Nottingham the force are taking the issues very seriously.
DCC Fish said: "There's always more we can do.
"I understand how complex many of these areas are. They are complex, difficult and emotive areas to investigate."

We have had an email from someone alerting us to police activity in Beeston this afternoon.
Officers closed off part of East Crescent at 13:30 where they have been searching a house.
A force spokesman said it was part of an "on-going investigation" but they cannot tell us any more at this stage.

A procession has gone through Mansfield town centre this afternoon in honour of busker Ray Froggatt who died of cancer earlier this year.
The cortege, which carried his specially designed guitar coffin, passed by the Primark store where he used to perform.

Looking for a new challenge, former Nottingham Forest defender and manager Stuart Pearce is to compete in a new reality TV show with adventurer Bear Grylls.
The footballer, nicknamed by Reds fans as Psycho, will join six other celebrities who'll battle through the wilds of Africa on a 12-day survival expedition.
The programme, Bear Grylls: Mission Survive, will air on ITV next month.

A man who appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court earlier has admitted burglaries at eight different mosques in the city., external
Hussain Barak, 35, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody after entering the guilty pleas and will be sentenced next month.
Jared Stubbings took this photo of Ray Froggatt, who could often be seen singing in the town outside Primark.
On his photography website, Mr Stubbings wrote: "This man has given more to the town and people of Mansfield than anyone I know."
He said Ray always had a smile and kind word for people and described him as a "genuine, kind, wonderful human being".
Police investigating allegations of historical child abuse at care facilities in Nottinghamshire have arrested a 73-year-old man on suspicion of rape.
The man has been bailed pending further enquiries.

How good can 18-year-old Nottingham Forest winger Oliver Burke be?
He's signed a new four-and-a-half-year deal this week and former Forest and England midfielder Steve Hodge, who has known him since he was 13, says he's always had "genuine pace and he's direct".
Hodge said: "Against Cardiff he was superb (but) then against Leeds a couple of weeks ago he came on in the last 15 minutes when they were winning 1-0 and he gave the ball away in poor areas, so... He now needs to learn what is needed in certain game situations."

The city council says it understands the closure of the Beckhampton Centre has been "a sensitive issue for many" but points out it has consulted people on the plans and listened to their views.
A petition against plans to close the centre gathered 1,210 signatures at the end of last year.
The final decision on what happens to the centre lies with the executive board next Tuesday.
