    We told you briefly yesterday about the Queen's birthday message that has been etched onto a tiny Corgi hair.

    Scientists at the University of Nottingham used an electron microscope to write the message by projecting a beam of ions onto the hair's surface and removing the top layer to allow it to be etched.

    In the report, external, the CQC said systems weren't in place to safeguard children or adults, and levels of staffing were unsafe at St Mary's Medical Centre.

    In one case, a patient who was diagnosed with cancer hadn't had their notes written up following a visit at home.

    The CQC says it felt it had to take action to close the surgery or patients' lives would be "at risk of harm".

    There is slow traffic on the A1 northbound as the road is blocked because of an accident involving two lorries.

    The road is blocked between the Twyford Lane junction in Elkesley and Apleyhead in Hardwick Village. Congestion is going back to Markham.

    Another campaigner told BBC Radio Nottingham's Pip Watts her sister had a chronic disease where regular pain relief medication left her "unable to function" so she had been smoking marijuana to help her.

    The Care Quality Commission has revealed that patients at a doctors' surgery in Nottingham were "at risk".

    The St Mary's Medical Centre in Top Valley was closed suddenly two months ago following an inspection by the CQC, which meant 1,100 patients had to go elsewhere.

    In their report, inspectors said they found the surgery was "inadequate", "unsafe" and not providing "well-led services".

    Organiser of yesterday's cannabis rally told BBC Radio Nottingham's Pip Watts: "You can go out on a Friday night, get as drunk as you want, throw up in a gutter and have a fight,

    "When I have a joint the chances are I'm going to watch a cartoon and eat summat. I'm not going to hurt anybody so I don't see why I should be cautioned."

    If you walked past Old Market Square last night you might have seen about 100 people there holding a rally calling for cannabis to be legalised by the government.

    Many were carrying placards while openly smoking the drug.

    Cannabis is an illegal Class B drug, which can carry a jail sentence if you are caught with it. 

    Organiser of the protest Joe Robinson told me the law needs changing.

    Giving their praise for the Queen, one of the residents at Lark Hill Retirement Village in Clifton, who turned 90 this year, said: "She's done a wonderful job. I hope she does have a long and happy life and I hope I do as well."

    Another resident said: "I hope she carries on because I think she deserves it. I don't think anyone could have done it any better."

    BBC Radio Nottingham's Grace Nathan has been out to meet six residents at Lark Hill Retirement Village in Clifton who all turn 90 this year.

    Francis Richards told her: "I feel fine. The secret is plenty of eating what you like, and liking what you eat."

    Nottinghamshire's cricket captain Chirs Read believes the club has the players to step up to replace James Taylor who's been forced to retire due to a heart condition.

    Read told BBC Radio Nottingham: "It's devastating for James and it's a hard loss for the club. They're big shoes to fill but we've got players capable of taking on that challenge."
