Fire crews and the Environment Protection unit were called to John Lewis about 22:40 last night.
Bruce Keeling, watch manager at the Central Fire Station, said hot water had brought down a suspended ceiling and water with a temperature of 80C was "falling through the ceiling".

There's a lot of slow moving traffic around this morning. There's congestion on M1 southbound from J25 (A52 Nottingham) to J24 (A6 Kegworth), A610 at the Nuthall Island and on Annesley Road, Annesley.

John Lewis at Nottingham's Victoria Centre has flooded after 80,000 litres of water leaked from a ruptured heating pipe.
The shop suffered "severe" flooding to all floors and significant damage to the building and stock.
