    A cashier at a bookmakers in Stapleford was threatened with a handgun during a robbery yesterday.

    The robber, thought to be about 16 or 17-years-old and 5ft tall, threatened the woman working at Betfred in Derby Road, at about 21:20., external

    He fled with cash from the tills. 

    The 70-year-old cashier also had to be treated at the QMC for a hand injury.

    Broxtowe Borough Council decided to sell the centre and writer's former home last year to help save money.

    Ms Davis says she will now try and work with local schools and the DH Lawrence Society to make sure they still use the building for special events.

    A beauty spa has opened in Durban House - the former DH Lawrence Heritage Centre in Eastwood.

    Owner Michelle Davis said while they have had to change some parts of the house, they have tried to keep references to the writer throughout.

    She said: "I wanted to keep the legacy of DH Lawrence alive. He's a huge figure for Eastwood and he's worldwide known and we don't want to upset people."

    What a week it's been for Nottingham-based tennis player Dan Evans. 

    Evans trains at the Nottingham Tennis Centre and he'll be heading home after his defeat to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga yesterday.

    But that defeat came in the 4th round of the Australian Open and followed wins over Marin Cilic and Bernard Tomic. He'll be a top 50 player for the first time.

    East Midlands Airport says fog and poor visibility is affecting flights this morning.

    They have advised passengers to check the status of their flights with their airline before travelling to the airport.

    The airport said passengers should expect delays to flights and cancellations of some short haul and domestic UK flights.

    Mr Davidson said his daughter had taken a coach to London but did not meet the man she had been speaking to.

    He said she ran out of money to be able to return home and sat on a bench until she was taken in by a stranger.

    Mr Davidson said she stayed there until he and his wife Julie went down to London and found her unharmed.

    Mr Davidson said his daughter had seen the last week as "an adventure" while it had been a stressful time for the family.

    He said in hindsight he wished he had taken more notice of a change in her behaviour as she spent more time on her phone and in her room than usual.

    He told BBC Radio Nottingham this morning: "I would say to other parents if there's any uncharacter behaviour then there's something wrong."

    He thanked everyone who had shared their appeal and helped them find Molly.

    First this morning, a dad from Sutton-in-Ashfield is warning other parents to be aware of who their children are texting and messaging online.

    Anthony Davidson's 19-year-old daughter, Molly, has learning difficulties and disappeared for five days when she went to meet a man in London.

    Molly was found at the weekend thanks to public appeals and phone tracking technology on her phone.
