    Manager Kevin Nolan has said Notts County's remarkable revival is down to having intelligent players who learn quickly.

    The Magpies had lost 10 League Two games in a row when Nolan was  appointed on 12 January  and were just one point and one place above the bottom two.

    But the  win at second-placed Plymouth Argyle  was their fourth in nine games under Nolan and took them eight points clear of the relegation zone.

    Nottinghamshire Police said it was still trying to work out the circumstances surrounding the teenager's death following the incident in Bramcote. , external

    A 36-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of supplying a controlled drug and was further arrested in custody on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

    She has since been released on bail. 

    Another boy, 14, who was also at the property on Sloan Drive on Monday, remains in hospital in a stable condition.

    An investigation has begun into the death of a 13-year-old boy following an incident at a property in Bramcote., external

    Nottinghamshire Police were called to a property on Sloan Drive in the early hours of Monday. 

    The teenager died last night.

    The medals of a World War One soldier who was decorated for gallantry three times in three weeks - probably without firing a shot - have sold at auction for £14,000.

    Nottinghamshire miner William Peniston joined the Kings Royal Rifle Corps and became a stretcher bearer.  

    The collection was expected to fetch between £8,000 and £10,000.

    The body of a 33-year-old man has been found in a flat in Russell Street, Radford.

    Nottinghamshire Police said, external chemicals were found in the property and the block of flats was evacuated as a precaution. 

    The man's death was not being treated as suspicious, the force said.

    The University of Nottingham has sent across these photos of staff and students on campus paying their final respects to Sir Peter Mansfield.

    Sir Peter, who is the scientist that developed MRI scans, died last month and his funeral was held earlier today in Beeston. 

    The 83-year-old spent his entire career at the University of Nottingham and has a building named after him there.

    A woman died after a hospital did not accept her for neurosurgery citing an intensive care bed shortage, an inquest heard.

    Teresa Dennett, 58, needed surgery after a stroke and the coroner concluded "it is likely she would have survived" if the operation went ahead.

    Nottingham University Hospitals said its intensive care unit was full and suggested she should go to Sheffield.

    But NHS England said a lack of beds was not a reason for refusing admission.
