  7. Watch: Treadmill desks help workers be more activepublished at 08:44 British Summer Time 3 April 2017

Millions of us need to exercise more – but it’s difficult when a large part of your day is taken up with work. That’s where treadmill desks come in.

My Home Move based in Enderby, Leicestershire, is a law firm specialising in the legal side of property sales.

When the company moved to a new headquarters in December they installed four treadmills hooked up to desks.

They have three basic settings slow, moderate, and fast walking pace, staff use them for meetings, for one to ones and both before and after work just to unwind, or wind up.

The staff also have a competition from January to March to see who can lose the most weight with people I met losing up to a stone and a half.

Staff said it  makes them think about getting fit, many bring their trainers in alongside their high heels.

It’s also inspired the company to have free fruit delivered weekly, organise a walking club, a cycle to work scheme and a charity fundraising trek.
