The new chairman of Derbyshire Cricket Club says the sport has to draw in a more diverse audience to survive.
Ian Morgan was appointed in March after replacing Chris Grant.
He says something needs to change to stop participation in Derbyshire and across the country from declining.
Quote MessageThe majority of the people who watch cricket at the moment are a bit like me - pale, male, and stale. We've got to appeal to a new audience - the 20 over competition as we've seen with the Big Bash in Australia and the IPL in India brings in a big audience so we've got to go for that.

With Easter around the corner we all expect one thing... yes a chocolate egg.
Well a care home manager from Newark was told that she couldn't buy 60 Easter eggs.
Margaret Hemstock, who manages Southwell Court Care Home, wanted to purchase the eggs for residents - but when she went to buy them in Morrisons she was told to put the eggs back on the shelf and fill out a form to buy the eggs in a bulk.
She told us she was less than impressed.
Quote MessageI felt like he was accusing me of wanting Easter eggs to sell on the open market as if I was some sort of fraudster - I was so angry especially when they asked me to put the Easter eggs back on the shelf.
