    CCTV image of a man police want to speak to after cash was stolen from an teenager on a bus has been released.

    The man asked if he could borrow the 18-year-old's mobile phone before snatching it along with cash in the phone holder, Nottinghamshire Police said., external

    It happened on the 89 bus from the city centre to Bestwood at about 12.15 on 10 October.

    A rape of a woman in Ilkeston is also being treated as attempted murder, police have said.

    The woman was walking along Queens Avenue in the early hours of Sunday 26 November when a man grabbed her, strangled her and then raped her.

    Det Con Insp Gareth Meadows, from Derbyshire Police, said: “This was a serious attack on a woman who was alone following a night out."

    Police want to speak to anyone who was in the area between 02:00 and 05:00.

    A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital with a knife cut to his hand after a fight in Nottingham city centre.

    Nottinghamshire Police said, external they were called to a group of men fighting in Old Lenton Street at about 16:35 yesterday.

    When officers arrived the group left but the man was found in Lower Parliament Street.

    A male has been arrested in connection with the fight and enquiries are ongoing.

    Derbyshire-based Sports Direct, and two staff agencies it used, have had to pay back a total of £1.1m to their workers.

    The retailer was in the top five on a government list of firms that have had to repay the most to its staff.

    Sports Direct - together with the two agencies, Transline and Best Connection which it used to supply its staff - underpaid more than 4,000 staff in total.

    The retailer, led by Mike Ashley (pictured) said the underpayment related to a "historical situation in our warehouse that was widely publicised in 2016".

    An investigation by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) last year found some workers at the retailer's main distribution centre in Shirebrook had been docked 15 minutes' pay if they clocked on one minute late.

    I went out to Gamston in Nottinghamshire a few days ago to find out everything you ever wanted to know about gritting.

    Nottinghamshire County Council has a fleet of 30 gritting lorries which operate from four highway depots in Gamston, Markham Moor, Newark and Bilsthorpe.

    The council has the capacity to store about 20,000 tonnes of salt - 10,000 tonnes more than official government recommendations.

    The county's gritters were dispatched on 62 days last winter from October to April.

    Snow and ice closed three major routes in Derbyshire last night: The A537 Cat and Fiddle, the A53 Leek Road and the A57 Snake Pass.

    The Cat and Fiddle and Leek Road are now OPEN but Snake Pass remains CLOSED.

    Derbyshire County Council has said it's working to open it as soon as possible.

    All primary and secondary routes through the county have been gritted except in High Peak, where snow is being cleared from roads so they can be gritted at 08:00.

    This was the A623 at Tideswell at about 00:30 this morning. The road has been cleared and is fully open.
