Parents with children at a primary school in Braunstone Town could face getting fined if they drive to drop off or pick up their child.
From April Leicestershire County Council will enforce a "school clear zone" at Millfield L.E.A.D Academy - this means there will be parking restrictions in place on roads around the school.
These roads will be patrolled by civil enforcement officers issuing fines of £70 or £35 if paid within 14 days.
It follows a "catalogue of parking issues" on surrounding residential roads, including one incident where parked vehicles hindered an ambulance's access to the school.
Quote MessageThe school receives regular calls from both residents and parents and carers raising concerns about the parking of vehicles on the roads surrounding the school. We have regularly requested that vehicles are parked safely, but the situation seems to have deteriorated, so we support any actions which improve things.”

Riyad Mahrez has released a statement about his recent absence from the Leicester City squad.
The Foxes player has trained with the club for the first time since his request to move to Manchester City last month was rejected.
Quote MessageOver the past 10 days many people claiming to be my friend have spoken about me and things they know nothing about. Leicester City Football Club were always aware of my whereabouts and had knowledge of my thinking either directly or via my advisors. My goals have always been the same and I have always given my full 100% when I play for the club, the fans and my teammates. Those goals remain the same today and in the future and when I am asked to be a part of the Leicester team, rest assured I will continue to give my all"
