    The NHS has responded to concerns raised by Leicestershire County Council regarding its sustainability and transformation plans (STP).

    The authority wrote to the local NHS last year to express "serious concerns" about the lack of detail in the plan and requested the council's name and logo was not used on the publication of a further draft plan this year.

    CCTV footage has shown the moment a group of men tried to steal a cash machine in a ram-raid in Creswell, only to be disturbed by police.

    The attempted theft happened early this morning at the Co-op store on Elmton Road.

    Police were alerted by an alarm at the shop and officers in the area went to the scene.

    Before fleeing, the men smashed the windscreen of the car. As a result, the officers inside suffered cuts to their face and the vehicle was left damaged.

    Derbyshire Police would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened.

    Leicestershire County Council wants its branding taken off local NHS publications outlining major health reform plans.

    The NHS is publishing sustainability and transformation plans, which aim to reduce pressure on acute services and cut costs across England.

    The Conservative-led authority said it had invested £1.3m this year supporting the effort to join up patient services.

    The 55-year-old woman had surgery in Nottingham to repair the damage mouth cancer caused to her jaw.

    A former head teacher from Thurcaston who suffers from Parkinson's Disease has pledged to run in the Leicester Marathon.

    John Hemingway has been living with the condition for 12 years.

    In October he completed the Leicester Half Marathon with his son-in-law Jon in under 2 hours.

    "I did a lot of road-running when I was younger," said John. "I was determined that I was going to come back to running again, particularly as the specialists told me I never would. That's a red-rag to a bull as far as I'm concerned.

    "It's not just about medication, it's not just about diet, it's not just about exercise, it's not just about positive thinking. It's about the whole lot rolled up together."

    Leicester's Hinckley Road has fully reopened in both directions after repairs following the explosion in a shop and flat.

    The site was severely damaged in the blast which killed five people on 25 February. Three men deny their manslaughter.

    A major clean-up operation took place in the days that followed, with the road reopened for traffic heading out of the city before a single lane was opened for those travelling inbound.

    A new bus stop has also been installed on the site after the last one was destroyed in the explosion and the pavement has been repaired.

    A 67-year-old woman was pinned down on her bed by four masked men who broke into a house in Pear Tree, police said.

    The victim and a 67-year old man were both asleep when the raiders burst into the home on Saturday between 21:00 and 21:40.

    The woman was repeatedly held down and had her mouth covered when she tried to call for help.

    One of the men was brandishing a sharp tool, thought to be a screwdriver.

    The men forced the rear door of the home on Pear Tree Crescent before stealing jewellery, documents and cash.

    They were all wearing dark-coloured clothing with their faces covered.

    A choir boy from Hinckley is looking to record an album with a professional orchestra before his voice gets too deep.

    Sebastian Carrington, who has appeared on The Voice Kids, says some of his friends have come back after summer holidays sounding totally different.

    The 12-year-old's dream is to perform with a professional orchestra and record a series of songs as a solo album before his voice changes.

    His parents are now considering crowd-funding the project before it is too late.
