    This is the scene at the Crawshaws shop in Cheapside, Leicester - one of 35 stores to be closed by the meat retailer after it went into administration.

    Outlets in Chesterfield, Derby, Loughborough, Mansfield, Retford and Worksop have also shut, along with a factory shop in Leicester.

    Administrators EY have said 19 profitable stores would continue to operate - including one in West Bromwich which its Leicester customers have been told is now their nearest.

    Just a few weeks after recovering from stab wounds received in the line of duty, he's helped his human colleagues track down a "high risk" missing person.

    Derbyshire Police said the brave German Shepherd dog was called into action this weekend and found the woman in woodland within 15 minutes, external.

    The force added the woman was "very poorly" but now safe.

    More than 300 Star Wars toys have returned to Coalville, where many of them were made in the 1970s and 80s.

    An exhibition of the collectibles, which were either manufactured or packaged by Palitoy, is being held at the Heartwood Conference Centre, where the toy factory used to stand.

    Everything in the exhibition is from the personal collection of one man, Matt Fox, who said: "I’d say it is worth over six figures, which is nice, but it’s not really the reason I own it.

    "Star Wars toys seem to keep on climbing in value so they’re a very popular collectors market, and it’s a global market.

    "In every country in the world you will find a lot of Star Wars collectors out there."

    Four fire crews remain on the scene of the Cattle Market fire this afternoon, which completely destroyed four buildings.

    Incinerator Road, Clarke Road, Cattle Market Road, and Meadow Lane from the junction with London Road remain closed and are likely to for the rest of the day.

    The blaze took hold at 17:30 yesterday, with 85 firefighters tackling the fire at its height.

    An investigation into the cause of the fire is due to take place today.

    Butchers Crawshaws has closed seven stores and one factory shop in the East Midlands after going into administration.

    Stores in Chesterfield, Derby, Leicester, Loughborough, Mansfield, Retford and Worksop have been closed, in addition to the factory shop in Leicester (pictured), which has resulted in 71 job losses in the region.

    This is part of a nationwide closure of 35 stores and one factory after the firm appointed administrators last week, with a total loss of 354 jobs.

    The owner of an exotic animal business in Nottingham has said an "entire ark's worth" of animals had to be rescued from their shop following a major fire last night.

    About 200 animals from Internet Reptile were taken to safety during the fire at Nottingham's Cattle Market.

    Among them were bearded dragons, geckos, snakes, frogs, tarantulas, chameleons, tortoises and snails.

    It might have been a frantic time for the humans, but it sounds like the animals were very relaxed.

    Clare Bensley said: "We had some dart frogs laying eggs during the trauma of last night - that shows how chilled they were.

    "We even had a customer take our eggs home from our incubator so they were all safe."

    She also confirmed the reptile rescued in a shopping trolley was a black and white tegu lizard (pictured) that weighs between 3kg and 4kg.

    Crews are still at the scene of the fire, which destroyed about six buildings.

    However, Gary Hunt, watch manager at Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, said he believed it could have been much worse.

    Mr Hunt said: "It was very close to some of the other buildings and they have suffered minor damage but once we got the right resources here we were able to put in fire stops to prevent them being lost to fire."

    A 20-year-old man who was arrested following a shooting in Nottingham on Saturday is still being questioned by police.

    A woman, aged 24, was shot in the arm outside Das Kino in Fletcher Gate by a man who rode off on a moped.

    She was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

    Police, who were called at about 22:20, believe it was a "targeted attack" but the woman, who has since been discharged from hospital, was not the target.

    The suspect arrested yesterday is being held on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

    Delays are expected following a crash close to Junction 21a of the M1 southbound near Markfield.

    Police were called at 09:50 today following a collision between a lorry and a car, which blocked two lanes of the motorway.

    The debris has been cleared but delays are still expected on approach.

    A 37-year-old man died following a house fire in Nottingham on Saturday.

    Emergency services were called to Mansfield Grove in Arboretum at 18:22. The man was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre but was later pronounced dead.

    The fire service and police are investigating the cause, although it is not believed to be suspicious.

    Two poppy cascades, made up of 10,000 knitted poppies each, have been put up at Chesterfield town hall in the run up to the centenary of Armistice Day.

    The project led by Chesterfield & District Combined Ex Services Association has seen a total of 40 cascades put up in the town, made up of close to 50,000 knitted poppies which were donated to the group.

    Police have released an image of a man they would like to identify following a number of sexual assaults in Derby.

    There were two reports of a man cycling past teenage girls and grabbing them in the city centre yesterday.

    The first assault was on Bridge Street at 12:40 and the second on Green Lane at about 13:20.

    Police are linking the two assaults yesterday to a previous 13 reported over the past few weeks.

    Kasper Schmeichel says he will never be able to rid himself of the memory of the helicopter crash that killed Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, Leicester's owner.

    "I was on the pitch and I waved him off," said Schmeichel after Saturday's 1-0 win at Cardiff.

    "It is something that will stay with me, unfortunately."

    He continued: "I saw it all happen. It's not a nice memory but I've had all the support that I need. The club has been great and everybody has received the support that they needed."

    In case you're wondering why the only injury sustained during the Cattle Market fire was a snake bite... it happened when animals were evacuated from the Internet Reptile shop.

    In a statement on its Facebook page, the company said: "Our first and main priority was the evacuation of our animals, which we are pleased to confirm have all safely left the building and have been housed in temporary accommodation for now."

    "Apart from minimal damage to the rear of Internet Reptile we are informed that the fire is now under control."

    Georgina Wragg's family run a wholesale fishmongers on the market. Her stepson Richard was one of those helping to move the 200 animals to temporary accommodation at Nottingham Seafood.

    She said: "Some of the reptiles are massive. About four/five weeks ago they rescued one giant reptile the size of two cats. This great big reptile has gone to Nottingham Seafood in a shopping trolley."

    Richard told us he and and several others moved the reptiles in a "human chain".

    A café owner has described how a man "lost everything" in last night's fire.

    Nigel, who runs The Market Café, said: “There’s no words that can explain what the man must be going through at the moment. He’s absolutely devastated.

    “I’ve watched him and his son build the business up from next to nothing and in a matter of hours they’ve lost everything.”

    Liam Fanning, who was due to make a delivery to one of the businesses caught up in the blaze, said: “There’s nothing there, it’s just ashes.”
