At the start of World War One, the Football League - featuring Derby County and Notts County as founder members - had only been round for a couple of decades.

A man who put lives at risk by starting several fires in a Leicestershire village has been jailed.
Leicestershire Police said Danel Milburn was responsible for arson attacks in Mowsley Road, Bell Lane and Church Street late on the night of 29 August and the early hours of 30 August.
After starting the fire in Bell Lane, he told staff from a nearby care home he was a trained firefighter.
At Leicester Crown Court, the 34-year-old, of Burma Road, in Sharpness, Gloucestershire, pleaded guilty to three counts of arson recklessly endangering life and was jailed for five-and-a-half years.
Det Con Chantel Booth said: "Milburn claimed to have been drunk at the time, which is no excuse for his actions.
"He is lucky that no-one was seriously injured as a result, but what he did has still had a significant, lasting impact on a number of people."

Free, fortnightly garden waste collections are to be reintroduced by Derby City Council from April, subject to cabinet approval next week.
It will mean households would no longer have to pay an annual £40 charge for garden waste to be taken away.
The council is hoping to meet the government's targets for reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill by recycling at least 50% of household waste by 2020.
The move is expected to cost almost £600,000 a year, with another £770,000 upfront for new brown bins.
