    A parish councillor has complained to Morrisons after a delivery driver parked on the pavement, blocking them from getting past in their wheelchair.

    Councillor Chandler Wilson, who has fibromyalgia, was on St John's Road, Ruddington, just before 11:00 on Friday when they noticed the driver blocking their path.

    Councillor Wilson said the driver became "abusive" when he was asked to move the van.

    "For me, it's not about the driver getting the sack but what Morrisons do is up to them.

    "What I want is to start a debate about what disabled people need to get on an equal footing in society."

    Morrisons has apologised and is investigating the incident.

    Police have arrested a man at Stansted Airport in connection with a gunshot in Nottingham last month.

    The 23-year-old is the seventh man to be arrested over the shot fired in Minver Crescent, Aspley, but the investigation continues.

    No-one was injured. The man has now been bought back to Nottinghamshire for questioning.

    A man is recovering in hospital after suffering serious head injuries after leaving a club in Derby.

    The 28-year-old was found in Shaftesbury Street by a passer-by at about 06:30 on Sunday.

    Derbyshire Police are now investigating how he got injured and have appealed for anyone with information to get in touch, external.

    Firefighters had to rescue a man from a lorry that overturned in snow on a Derbyshire road.

    He was taken to hospital after the accident on Camphill Lane, in Great Hucklow at about 13:30.

    Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service are warning others to be careful after "severe snow".

    A police pursuit had been authorised shortly before a suspected stolen vehicle collided with a Volvo in Leicester this afternoon.

    It happened on Victoria Road East in Leicester at around 12:30 this afternoon and the road remains closed.

    Three people from the Volvo have been taken to hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

    The vehicle which it collided with was believed to be stolen and officers, supported by a helicopter, spotted it near the crash site. It failed to stop and then crashed.

    An investigation into the circumstances is now under way.

    A 20-year-old Leicester man has been arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle and remains in police custody.

    Philip Steel sent us this photo of a lengthy queue for the car park at Leicester Royal Infirmary at 10:30 this morning.

    He said the delays meant he had to divert to a private car park 300m from the hospital instead so his 83-year-old mother could make her 10:45 appointment.

    A petition calling for a school crossing in Coalville has been set up following the death of a teenage girl.

    The girl died after she was hit by a bus on Meadow Lane yesterday afternoon.

    The online petition, set up by Sara Stewart, says: "I for one whose child goes to one of those schools believe a manually controlled crossing should be put in place to ensure their safety.

    "We don’t want another tragic accident to occur that takes away the life of a talented young person with their whole life ahead of them."

    So far 300 people have signed the petition.
