    People aged 18 and older have been receiving their coronavirus vaccine in the East Midlands after it became available to all adults in England.

    Many people queued in the rain outside vaccination centres, including one in Loughborough.

    Dr Vijay Rawal, from NHS England in the Midlands, said: "We've seen a great uptake and real enthusiasm from the younger age groups across the region so I'm almost certain that we'll have a really good response to this.

    "Obviously the supply will be paced but then the appointments are paced according to the supplies."

    Jack Toberts, 18, said: "I'm very happy about getting a jab - it was painless.

    "I've been waiting a while to get it and I'm just ready to get my second one, get back out and get back to normal."

    A man has appeared in court charged with attempting to murder a woman in Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

    Police were called to a report of a knife attack at a home in Hartley Road just before 14:30 on Wednesday.

    When officers arrived they found a 41-year-old woman with a severe injury to her neck.

    Police said she was taken to hospital where she remains in a stable condition following emergency surgery.

    A 61-year-old man, of Hartley Road, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court earlier and was remanded into custody to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 16 July.

    Wollaton Hall has released a sneak peak of part of a special new visitor.

    Titus, the first real Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton shown in England for more than 100 years is set to go on display from 4 July, with a premiere event the night before.

    Backed by £250,000 of Arts Council England funding, the 4m (13ft) tall and 11m (36ft) long dinosaur will take up all of the Nottingham hall's main Willoughby Room.

    Melvin Benn, managing director of Festival Republic, which runs Download as well as Reading and Leeds and Latitude and others, said: "Despite the weather it feels joyous.

    "We didn't think this would happen but the government wanted to extend the research programme they'd put together and they wanted a camping festival.

    "And I felt that a Donwload pilot event was the perfect one to do so."

    He said the line-up, which includes Frank Turner, Enter Shikari and Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes, was put together in less than 36 hours.

    "I won't quite be moshing, my body won't be but my mind and my heart will be," he added.

    Police in Derbyshire have closed a number of roads in and around Duckmanton as they deal with an "ongoing incident".

    Staveley Road and Inkersall Road have been shut between the A632 Chesterfield Road and Inkersall Green Road, with access to Rectory Road and Tom Lane also restricted.

    Derbyshire Police said officers "will remain in the area for some time" and it will issue more details "in due course".
