    An eyewitness has told BBC Radio Oxford that there's nothing left of the top level of the council building and the fire is still raging.

    South Oxfordshire District Council, external has issued a statement on the fire at their building overnight:

    Senior communication officer Andy Roberts said: "There has been a major fire at the South Oxon and Vale of White Horse District Council building in Cowmarsh Gifford. Most services will be affected.

    "The councils are putting their business continuity plan into place to make sure the effect on the most important front line services is kept to a minimum. Councils will set up an emergency phone line for people who have urgent inquiries."

    You can see that the entire top floor of the council offices is well alight. Flames are leaping from floor to ceiling and breaking through the roof in a couple of places.

    Firefighters are blasting water down on top of the building, which can be seen from at least 10 miles away, glowing in the sky.

    Two large fires have broken out in south Oxfordshire overnight.

    The South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District councils building in Crowmarsh Gifford is alight.

    Separately a cottage and a derelict building have also caught fire in Roke Marsh.
