A man's body was found by a member of the public in land just off Botley Road on Sunday afternoon, police say, external.
The man has not been formally identified, but he is believed to be Trae Van-Merlin, who went missing in 2015.
There were no suspicious circumstances and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

A flood warning, meaning flooding that could affect properties is possible, has been issued for the River Thames at Buscot Wick, Buscot, Kelmscott, Radcot, the Lower Bampton area, the Chimney area and Shifford.
The Environment Agency, external says the water is likely to rise from Tuesday morning.
Oxford's postponed match against Exeter City, which was called off due to a waterlogged pitch at the weekend, has been set for Tuesday 23 February.

There have been cancellations from Didcot including:
A flood warning has been issued by the Environment Agency for the River Thames and tributaries at Wolvercote in Oxford, with flooding "expected".
People living nearby are advised to act now to protect their property, prepare an emergency kit of food and medicines and avoid entering flood water.

The trial of two men accused of shooting Kerry Reeves in the head in Abingdon in November will begin on 9 May.
Billy Johnson, 20, from Ripon Court, Corby, Northamptonshire, and Charles Noble, 20, from Kempton Avenue, Northolt, Ealing, have both pleaded not guilty.
The public toilets in South Parade in Oxford have been converted to a unisex facility as part of a £600,000 programme to refurbish every city council public convenience, external.
In October 2015, the council triumphed at the Loo of the Year Awards - with all 10 toilets entered into the competition winning the Gold Standard.

A meeting of the Vale of the White Horse District Council has granted permission for Truck Festival to expand its capacity by a third to 9,999.
Steventon Parish Council had objected to the move over fears that their village would become jammed with traffic, but organisers say they have a new plan to divert festival goers away from the village.
