    A decision is being made on plans to expand the Truck music festival, which is held in in Steventon.

    Organisers want to increase its capacity from 7,500, to just under 10,000. 

    Councillors on Vale of White Horse District Council are discussing the changes to the licence.

  2. Man dies after M40 crashpublished at 10:52 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2016

    A 50-year-old man from Headington has died after the car he was driving left the M40 near Banbury last night. 

    At about 20:20 the silver VW Golf came off the road to the nearside while travelling northbound between J10 and J11. It went down an embankment, overturned and ended up on its roof.

    Police have appealed for witnesses, external.

    A BBC Inside Out investigation has found antenatal departments at hospitals in Oxford, Reading, Southampton and Slough have seen a rise in the number of cases of female genital mutilation (FGM) in the past year.

    Figures obtained by the BBC showed 42 patients with FGM were identified at the John Radcliffe last year, compared with 29 the year before. 

    Jammie Koroma was a victim of the practice at the age of 10 in Sierra Leone, but later moved to the UK and now supports FGM victims in Berkshire.

  6. Call for compulsory hygiene ratings displaypublished at 09:58 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2016

    After three districts of Oxfordshire topped a list of areas with the highest percentage of restaurants rated with poor food hygeine, there has been a call for displaying the 'score on the door' to be compulsory.

  7. Homes without power in Wantagepublished at 09:34

    Fourteen homes in Wantage are without power this morning.

    Southern Electric, external says a generator is on its way, and power is expected to be returned by 11:00.

  8. Oxfordshire regions top for poor food hygiene across Southpublished at 09:22

    Three council areas in Oxfordshire have topped a list of having the highest percentage of restaurants with poor food hygiene in the south of England.

    Inspectors gave about one in 14 establishments in South Oxfordshire, the Vale of White Horse and Oxford City a score of two or less out of five.

    There is one flood warning in place for Oxfordshire, on the River Cole at the Wiltshire border.

    There are also a dozen flood alerts for waterways across the county.
