    South Central Ambulance Service has sent a hazardous areas response team, three ambulances, the air ambulance, two officers and a rapid response vehicle to the scene of the Didcot Power Station incident.

    The A4130 is closed at Basil Hill Road - that's the road that runs parallel to the power station.

    Eyewitness Elliot Harvey tweeted us from Didcot, saying there was an "explosion then a dust cloud" on the site of the power station.

    A rare Viking hoard of arm rings, coins and silver ingots unearthed in Oxfordshire has been declared treasure by an Oxford coroner.

    It was buried near Watlington around the end of the 870s, when the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms of Mercia and Wessex were fighting for their survival from the threat of the Vikings.

    The struggles were to lead to the unification of England.

    Joe Rukin, from the Stop HS2, external campaign, said the amendments to the plans for the rail link were not enough.

    "The Chilterns is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty," he said.

    "What's the point of having that designation, having that supposed protection, if you're not going to tunnel through that entire area?"

    There is congestion on the A40 London Road to the B4027 junction, following the closure of the M40 entry slip road.

    Traffic is also slow southbound at junction 8, M40 (Oxford), because of the accident investigation work.

    Following the clarification that David Cameron's comments yesterday about not standing for re-election were a reference to his role as prime minister, and not as a local MP, Adam Lawrence tweeted us to say, external: "Sadly they'd elect a donkey in Witney if it wore a blue rosette."

    In contrast, Liam Walker tweeted, external: "I hope he stays on!"

    The final report, external by a committee of MPs looking into the plans for the HS2 high-speed rail link has been released.

    Some amendments to plans have been included in a bid to lessen its impact including a longer tunnel under the Chilterns.

    A four-year-old girl has been injured in a suspected hit-and-run in Oxford, external.

    The pedestrian was hit by a black or dark-coloured Audi in Mortimer Road near to the junction with Nowell Road at about 16:15 yesterday.

    The girl, who received cuts, bruises and abrasions, is being treated at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

    The parents of a British man who reportedly travelled to the Middle East to join the so-called Islamic State group have been bailed again by police until 24 May.

    John and Sally Letts, from Oxford, said they were arrested after they sent their son Jack money for food and new glasses.

    Mr Letts' parents said he had converted to Islam but dismissed claims he had joined so-called Islamic State as "false" and said he travelled to the region for humanitarian reasons.
