On BBC South Today at 18:30 we'll be bringing you the latest on the appointment of the new Bishop of Oxford. 

So why has it taken 18 months to find a permanent replacement? We'll have the explanations and an interview with the Right Reverend Steven Croft himself.

More than 500 people have signed a petition calling for lights to be installed on a footpath in Marston, where the body of a baby was discovered at the end of February. 

The infant girl's body was found off Edgeway Road. Her mother has yet to be found, despite appeals and concern for her welfare. 

Now residents are calling for lights and CCTV to be installed along the path.

The Woodland Trust, external is giving away free trees to groups in Oxfordshire.

It's because Oxfordshire apparently has a tree cover of 9.01% compared to the national average of 13%.

The trust, which is the largest woodland conservation charity in the country, hopes to make a difference by delivering the trees "to be planted by people of all ages and backgrounds, in a variety of places from schools to golf clubs to grand parks".

In Abingdon there are delays through the temporary lights on the B4017 Drayton road due to emergency gas leak repairs.

The B4015 and A415 are slow through the lights at Clifton Hampden.

Oxford's Cameron AG, external appeared on Radio 1 last night, where he performed a session at Maida Vale and was interviewed by Huw Stephens.

More than half of small businesses across the country aren't disposing of their waste correctly, according to new campaign group Right Waste, Right Place, external. 

They've highlighted South Oxfordshire District Council, external and the Vale of White Horse District Council, external as councils that lead the way in catching flytippers in the act. 

Sam Corp, head of regulation at the Environmental Services Association, external, said the dumping of waste in this manner was "partly ignorance", though some flytippers were "potentially making profit illegally out of the waste they collect from people, so there's a criminal element".

There are delays of about 10 minutes on the A40 westbound from Cassington to Eynsham. 

Meanwhile in Oxford, traffic is building along Marston Ferry Road between Cherwell Drive and the Banbury Road junction.

Imam Monawar Hussain, founder of The Oxford Foundation, external and spokesman for Oxford's main mosques, has said he is "delighted" at the appointment of The Right Reverend Steven Croft as Bishop of Oxford.

According to new figures released by the BMW group, external, Mini sales were higher in March 2016 than in any previous single month.

A total of 39,061 of the cars, which are assembled at Plant Oxford in Cowley, were delivered, which was an increase of 6.6% compared with the same month last year. 

In the first quarter of 2016 sales also broke a new record with 78,311 units delivered, an increase of 5.4% on last year. 

Oxford United striker Kemar Roofe has made the shortlist for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Year award, external.

It's voted for by managers from clubs in each division, and he's up against former U's striker Matty Taylor (Bristol Rovers) and Ricky Holmes (Northampton Town). 

The winner will be announced at The Football League awards in Manchester on Sunday.

The Care Quality Commission has announced it will inspect 12 NHS trusts to ascertain how learning disability services investigate premature deaths in hospitals and in the community.

It will also look at what "support" is given to families of patients who pass away.

Chief inspector of hospitals, Professor Sir Mike Richards, said: "Every year thousands of people under the care of NHS trusts die prematurely because their treatment or care has not been as good as it could have been."

An inquest into the death of Connor Sparrowhawk at Slade House in Oxford found that neglect from Southern Health staff contributed to his death.

Police have issued new images of a man who has disappeared from a mental health centre in Oxford, external, amid concerns for his welfare.

Sandeep Flora, 27, was last seen at the Littlemore Mental Health Centre at 16:14 on Monday. 

Thames Valley Police said "he has no access to medication" adding that, although he is not thought to be a threat to the public, they are "concerned for his welfare due to his state of mind at the time he went missing". 

The 27-year-old, who is about 5ft 8ins, has black hair and a goatee beard. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap, a black Adidas top, blue jeans and Nike trainers. He was also carrying an Adidas rucksack with a gold logo.

Pressure on GPs is getting worse, according to a study by Oxford University, external.

The research found workloads are increasing, leading to longer waiting times. 

Professor Richard Hobbs, a part-time GP who carried out the study, said the ageing population was partly to blame, but it was not the only reason.
