    Telford College of Arts and Technology tells us he's already been called in for trials at Premier League Leicester and Stoke and has been scouted by a number of other top clubs.

    Want to see the Shetland ponies at Gonsal Farm Equine centre enjoying their new coats?

    The centre was short of rugs to keep its rescued ponies warm, but a company stepped in to supply some at a cut price.

  7. Video: Flood waters continue to rise in Bridgnorthpublished at 16:54

    This video was taken a short time ago and shows the flood waters flowing under the bridge in Low Town, Bridgnorth.

    The Severn is expected to peak at around 4.3m (14ft) overnight.

    The Environment Agency has issued a flood warning, external for the town.

  8. Mellon linked with Walsall jobpublished at 16:39

    There's speculation from some of the national papers linking Shrewsbury Town's Micky Mellon with the vacant manager's job at Walsall, after Dean Smith left for Brentford

    Mellon is not only just down the road, but he has the pedigree - promotion from League Two and a policy of youth development. Previously, he got Fleetwood into the Football League.

    Having said that, this is just speculation, as there always is when there's an empty seat and there has been no word from Mellon himself yet.

  9. Telford town park award 'for the volunteers'published at 16:26

    The Telford and Wrekin councillor responsible for Telford Town Park has described it as "something special" after it was crowned the best park in the UK earlier today.

    Councillor Liz Clare said the award, from Fields In Trust, should be credited to all the volunteers who work in the park.

    Take a look at these flooding pictures from November 2000, which our presenter Colin Young dug out of his archive.

    We had some really big floods around the turn of the century and you can see how large parts of Shrewsbury town centre were submerged.

    Telford Tigers take on Guildford Flames this Sunday, knowing it's a big chance to make up lost ground in the English Premier League.

    They have a game in hand over most of the teams above them and are just one point behind their opponents as things stand.

    The Environment Agency still has nine flood warnings, externalfor the county and it has just issued a flood alert for the rivers Tern and Perry in the Walcot area.

    Water levels there are expected to peak tonight at around 1.5m (5ft).

  17. Shropshire farmer completes Amazon challengepublished at 14:57

    A dairy farmer from the Market Drayton area has successfully completed a 2,000-mile (3,218km) charity voyage down the Amazon.

    Simon Furnival and four friends spent about a month rowing the distance in a 28-foot-long (8.5m) boat. 

    The 45-year-old father-of-three was raising money for Caudwell Children, a charity that supports young people with disabilities.

  18. Shropshire farm takes Elephant Grass gamblepublished at 14:43

    A Shropshire farming couple have decided to grow something a bit different and are encouraging other farmers to follow their lead.

    Colin and Sheila Webb from Kynnersley have planted 50 acres (20.2 hectares) of their farm with Miscanthus, which is also known as Elephant Grass.

    It can grow up to 14 ft (4.3m) tall and has a range of uses. The Webbs are selling theirs for biofuel and chicken bedding.

    They say it is a gamble, but have organised a tour of their farm this morning to show others how it is done.
