Villagers in Shipton, between Church Stretton and Bridgnorth, are trying to solve a 100-year-old mystery and trace relatives of a man listed on a local war memorial.
They know that Captain Walter Lloyd from the Welsh Fusiliers was born in Italy and lived in Scotland before being killed leading an attack at Gallipoli in August 1915.
But they don't know what his connection was to the area and why his name is recorded at St James's church in the village.

Telford and Wrekin Council has hit back at the Chancellor's suggestion that councils use more money from their reserves.
The councillor responsible for finances, Lee Carter, has told BBC Radio Shropshire the authority only has £4m that isn't already allocated.
Councillor Carter said the authority had worked hard to become more efficient and isn't "sitting on a large pot of money", with much of its budget already allocated to projects.
Quote MessageWe need some reserves, but they stand at a relatively low level. In terms of everything else that we hold, there is a list of things that money is committed towards.

It's six months since work started on a council-funded housing development in the Randlay area of Telford and 31 homes have been built so far.
It's aiming to build over 400 eventually, at a number of sites around the borough.
The idea is a simple one. The council pays for the homes to be built and then rents them out, to make money from them.
It says the building work can kick-start the development of brownfield sites in the area and help the local construction industry too.
