    Junior doctors are to take part in three more strikes and launch a judicial review as part of their fight against the government's decision to impose a new contract in England.

    The announcement by the British Medical Association comes two weeks after ministers said they would force the changes on doctors from the summer.

    Ministers say the contract, which involves paying doctors less to work Saturdays, will improve services.

    But the BMA says it is unfair.

    Shropshire Wildlife Trust has received a £16,000 grant to improve access to the recently-formed Pontesford and Earl's Hill Nature reserve. 

    The planned work includes improving pathways, installing steps, and adding easy-access gates, plus new signage. 

    Pontesford Hill was recently bought for the Trust by a community group of friends and other supporters who raised £265,000.

    Shropshire firefighters rescued a woman trapped in a lift this afternoon. 

    The alarm was raised at 13:51 at a premises in Portcullis Lane, Ludlow - and fire crews had released her by 14:05.

    Philip Dunne says he will be backing the Remain campaign in the run up to the EU referendum.

    While expressing reservations about the EU, he says the deal secured by the Prime Minister offers key changes for British membership.

  11. Two midwives face questioning after investigation into baby's deathpublished at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2016

    An NHS investigation has recommended that two midwives be referred to the Nursing and Midwifery Council over the events surrounding a baby's death.

    Kate Stanton-Davies died in Ludlow in 2009 after failures to recognise she was in difficulty.

    The investigation found one of the Midwives had changed patient notes.

    It's part of research at Harper Adams University to discover more about the behaviour of the creatures.

    Left unchecked they have the potential to cause an estimated £100m damage to crops each year.

    These are just some of the pieces of art owned by Shropshire Council.

    The authority has nearly 4,000 within its collection, although less than a third are on display to the public.

    Despite that - and the need to save £77m in the next five years - the council says it will hold onto the works, the most expensive of which are worth seven-figure sums.

    It deems them too important to the county to be sold.

    Protestors came out to object to the location, saying new housing would create draining problems.

    The advert will be running on ITV player for the next four weeks. It's a part of the West Midlands campaign Love Your Local Hospice, which has seen 15 other hospices in the region create similar adverts.
