    Waters Upton's neighbourhood plan for the next 15 years goes before councillors this week. 

    It focuses on the needs and aspirations of the local community, as well as looking at planning policies.

    If it gets approved by Telford & Wrekin Council's cabinet this week there'll be a referendum, where local people can decide whether to back the plan.

    Scientists at Harper Adams College in Newport have put tiny tracking devices into slugs to try and learn more about their behaviour.

    The trackers are smaller than a grain of rice and don't affect the slugs themselves.

    Researchers are hoping to track their movements over the course of a night and examine how they damage crops.

    Shropshire Council has an art collection that contains 3,700 works, but less than half are on display.

    I've been told the most valuable items in the collection are worth over a million pounds - and we only know this because they were valued for insurance purposes.

    The authority says it is holding onto the art not for its financial worth but its importance to the county.

    Two quick goals close to half time put United in control.

    Shrewsbury had a couple of chances after the break but it is the Premier League team that progresses in the competition.  

  11. Repairs to Shrewsbury flood defencespublished at 08:47 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2016

    The Environment Agency has started repairing a section of the Frankwell flood defence scheme in Shrewsbury. 

    The repairs, which will take two weeks, involve re-laying part of the outer brick wall cladding and installing a new coping stone along a section of wall adjacent to the Bowling Green.

    Temporary traffic lights on the Limekiln bank roundabout in Priorslee may slow traffic, as could roadworks on Granville Avenue in Newport.
