  3. Report on Europe promised by Shrewsbury MPpublished at 13:13 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2016

    The MP for Shrewsbury, who sits on the Foreign Affairs Select Committee, says it will produce a report next month which will set out fairly the advantages and disadvantages of remaining in the EU.

    Daniel Kawczynski says he will vote to leave in June's referendum, but he urged people to read all the facts before making a decision.

    The MP for Shrewsbury has been speaking on BBC Radio Shropshire this morning and said finding extra funding for Shropshire Council is at the top of his list of six priorities.

    The authority recently got an extra £8.5m from the government, but the leader of the council has said he wants more.

    Mr Kawczynski said negotiations would continue and he warned that day-to-day services could be under threat.

    Harry Maceachen's grandmother has told us she'll be paying him a visit in hospital later and taking his brother Sam in with her.

    Alison Price was speaking on BBC Radio Shropshire this morning and said that she'd been told his liver transplant had gone according to plan.

    The company which collects the bins in Shropshire, Veolia, has put an advert in the local papers, urging drivers to watch out for their bin men.

    The company says more and more residents were verbally abusing their staff and driving dangerously around the trucks.

    Earlier this week, a bin man broke a bone after being hit by a vehicle.

    The International Centre in Telford will be playing host to about 400 Alpacas this weekend.

    The British Alpaca Society's national show will be taking place, with proceeds from the gate going to the Severn Hospice. 

    Local Alpaca farmer and breeder Shaun Martin from Cherrington gave his tips on preparing for the big day.

    Work has finally finished on a new roof at Attingham Park, as part of a £1.4m restoration project.

    Architect John Nash's picture gallery at the Grade I listed house has leaked ever since it was built, owners the National Trust said.

    A conservation project has seen a roof, made from steel and glass built over the 1807 original, made to protect it. 

    The gallery will now open to visitors at the weekend.

    Four-year-old Harry Maceachen from Shrewsbury is recovering in hospital today after Wednesday's liver transplant operation.

    And a consultant at the Birmingham Children's Hospital, Dr Darius Mirza told the BBC "he'll take a while to get back to his normal bubbly self".

    He explained that the operation had been a complicated one, but they made an important discovery.

    Tests are continuing on the goalposts at Shrewsbury Rugby Club, after one of them crashed to the ground, hitting a spectator on the head. 

    The man who'd been watching his son play for Oswestry Rugby Club, was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital with head injuries. He's now been discharged.

    The grandmother of four-year-old Harry Maceachen says the news from hospital is that his liver transplant operation has gone according to plan and that the consultants are "very happy with his progress".

    Alison Price told BBC Radio Shropshire it has been a "very very difficult 12 months" for the family, since his condition started to deteriorate - he was born with a rare liver disease. 

    She is a former theatre sister at Oswestry's orthopaedic hospital and says it's always worse seeing children undergo operations. Ms Price also says she shares a special bond with Harry because they share a birthday.

    Investigations are continuing today following the discovery of a woman's body in Shrewsbury. 

    The body of a woman, thought to be in her 30s, was found in the Shrewsbury Hotel near the Welsh Bridge in the early hours of yesterday morning.

    Council tax is set to rise in Telford and Wrekin by 3.2%, an extra 55p a week for the average Band B property in the borough. 

    The local authority set its budget for the next financial year last night, after months of meeting with local people to get their ideas on how it can save money, while protecting services.

    A Shropshire dad and his four-year-old son are both on the road to recovery, after a complicated liver transplant yesterday.

    Harry Maceachen from Shrewsbury was born with a rare liver disease. He needed a transplant on his first birthday and now needed another. 

    His father Simon has become a living donor, as no suitable match was found on the organ donor register.
